No one was spared, not even the waiters that risked their lives before.
I was really glad, that Kaiman wasn't here anymore, holding En's hand. The sorcerer grabbed his tenderly, kissing the back of it, "Don't worry, it will be over soon." Indeed, fifteen people were already on the hooks. The moment the last number was called out, the room became silent.
Chidaruma took this moment to his advantage, "Dear guests, now that we have chosen the losers of the game, the winners shall be announced...give it up for...Nr. 23!" It was someone I didn't know, who stepped up to Chidaruma on stage. The sorcerer had tears him his eyes, looking up to those that lost their lives at such a young age. The devil whispered something over to him, as the guy said, "I want my partner back!"
"The winner wants to revive his friend!"
Gura Gura took off the parts that belonged dot that man, placing them all before Chidaruma. Instantly, the limbs got back together, until he was fully complete. The two sorcerers left the stage, feeling glad to be together again. Chidaruma wasn't finished yet, "unfortunately we are missing the eighteenth person now...this means to draw out another loser!" He made it quick, as well as the devil that chopped the person in pieces.
The devils were all waiting for something; I could feel their gaze on us.
Chidaruma gave the guests a chance to leave the hall now or wait for the last winner to be drawn. Naturally, they all ran for their lives. Only the En family remained at the end. The sorcerer in red ordered everyone to keep still and not to leave the hall at all cost. The devil stepped forward, reaching out to me, "For our guest of honor, our second luck winner...Nr. Six." My eyes looked at En, seeing him sight. Did he know it would happen?
"As for you, we got a very special surprise"
I trembled under the devil's touch. The man in red watched as I was pulled to the center of the hall. All devils stood beside each other, making a circle. Chidaruma turned me around, while placing his hands on my shoulders, "We all decided to give you this very special gift." He grabbed my head and placed a kiss on my forehead, "Devils may be cruel, but we can also be very generous." He faced En with a teasing look, "You wouldn't mind leaving your precious servant with us for a while?"
"Depends on what you mean with 'a while'?"
"This special gift will take three days. Of course you get her back straight away" Chidaruma wrapped an arm around my shoulder, rubbing his face against mine, "We will take good care of her in the meantime."
En didn't look pleased by that, but couldn't refuse it either. My voice was weak, but it was strong enough to ask Chidaruma what he was talking about. The devil just smiled wide, letting me go, "Something not many humans get this privilege, but you will see it for yourself." He turned around and went on one knee. Chidaruma ordered me to get on his back, flying out of the window towards the back house in the sky.
The sorcerer in red followed us with his eyes, sighting deeply. Shin and Noi got curious on what the devils are on about. En needed a minute before answering, "If I trust Chidaruma's words... I may have to hire a new personal servant."
Fujita and Ebisu panicked, "What???"
Shin didn't get it either, "But I thought she is a winner, getting a special prize."
"That's just it..." he said, looking towards the black house, "...this prize can cost her, her life."
"Can, but doesn't have to, right?"
Noi sounded like it was not as bad as it sounds, but En feared the worst, "Not may humans survive this." Just then, the ball was officially over, allowing the family to leave the hall. Outside was another main surprise for En's family members. Ebisu and Fujita were terrified of the sight, while Shin and Noi just shrugged. The guests, the so called 'survivors', are all lying lifeless before the building. Shin sighted, "You knew that this was just another prank of the devils...no surprise that anyone knew what is going on." The man in red nodded, "Playing with the lives of others means nothing to the devils, Chidaruma is the worst of them all, in his eyes, we are nothing but toys. That is why I don't get the feel that I will see her again."
The other two devils released Kaiman once they were back in Hole.
The lizard man was furious, wanting to attack the devils, "What the hell did you do that for?!"
Asu had enough of his tough act, grabbing him by his jacket, lifting him up will his feet were in the air. Risu removed all of his weapons, watching his devil companion how he snapped at Kaiman, "Instead of being ungrateful, you should be thankful for your girlfriend. Not only did she help you to stay alive, she even gave you the chance to live in peace!"
Kaiman growled at him, "This is not a life I want to live!"
Risu lost his temper, hitting his stomach hard, "At least you got a life!!!!"
The two watched him lie on the ground, holding his stomach. The lizard man couldn't hold back his tears, "I don't want to live this life...not without her." Asu assured him, that it is for the best, "Take this chance and support Nikaido. She can't live a life without you Kaiman." It was painful for the lizard man to hear that, but it was no lie...the devil was right.
Risu kneeled before him, touching his shoulder, "Kaiman, it is too later for her. Give this girl up."
Asu nodded, "We wasted enough time Risu, we better get back before Chidaruma find out about our absence." That they will be joining me anytime soon, they kept this to themselves. Kaiman won't be able to rest if he knew what is happening right now.
