49. Not the only reason

Fukuyama stood before the gates of En's mansion. With his prepared bag of meat pies, he approached the guards, "Excuse me?"

"Yeah, what is it?"

"I got an order for the woman on this picture." Since he didn't know my position in this family, he just pointed at the photo in the newspaper. The guards just nodded, taking the bag. Fukuyama stopped them quickly, Oh and can you give the lady a message?" Annoyed they turned back to him, "Now what?"

"She complained the last time about the pies not tasting so good, she had to break it in half to enjoy the rich flavor." For the men from En, they didn't see any difference between eating it whole or break in half and just shrugged. They are supposed to guard the place, not playing the delivery boys.

The dance lesson came to an end at some point.

I was red as a tomato afterwards, while En acted like it was nothing special, "Prepare the bathtub"

"Yes En"

Inside the bathroom, I watched the water travel down into the tub like a waterfall. The feeling of the ball tomorrow, the devils, the sorcerers...and even my friends in Hole...I missed being free. En demanded a bubble bath, so I got the one he liked the most, filled into a glass bottle in form of a mushroom. "Nikaido, Kaiman, I hope you are alright" completely lost in my thought, I didn't see how the bottle was empty in a matter of seconds. En won't be pleased about this. I guess he won't find out all too soon, right?

"N/A!"

Oh no he knows!!!

The extra small area in the bathroom is extra to get undressed. The sorcerer was already there, raising his hand up, "What are you waiting for?"

"The tub isn't filled just yet" he didn't give me much time mind.

"It is okay, I'll get in anyway"

I seen him before in the nude, but to even remove his pants...why the hell can't he just do it on his own???? In his bathrobe now, he went over to the shelf of towels, "We can discuss the next morning schedule here." I begged for a miracle that will stop this nightmare.

"Huh? What is going on here?!"

Irritated, I watched him run to towards the bathtub...seeing bubbles everywhere. Pretending not to know, I just acted all surprised, "Oh...how could that happen?"

"How much did you use of that stuff?"

"A handful...I guess..."

Shocked, En showed me the bottle, "It's completely empty!"

"Alright, alright...I used both hands..."

The sorcerer in red tired his best to turn off the water tab, only to slip. I found soon after that the entire floor became extremely slippery. The amount of water made it even worse, but that was not what concerned me the most. It was En, standing above me, opening his mask.

Out of reflex, I covered my head, "I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry!"

I didn't feel any different...am I a mushroom now? Opening my eyes, I looked up at the man in red. His gaze wasn't on me, more on the thousands of mushrooms around us, soaking in the water; "The staff can take care of the mess later on." I flinched at his glare, as he kneeled down before me, "You're soaked to the bone."

"It is okay"

En shook his head, "Get into the bathtub"

I raised a brow, "Don't you mean 'beside' the bathtub?"

His eyes darkened, "You heard me." I shuddered at his touch, as his hands went over my shoulders. That we get interrupted as not planned. The guards took at the door, looking scared at their boss, "What do you want?"

"An order for the woman over there"

I ordered something? When? En allowed the man to enter, handing me the bag, "Oh and a small message for you: break the pie in half to enjoy it better...whatever that means." I can't recall that I did such a thing, but took it anyway. Inside was only one small pie. That was my chance to get away, asking En politely to take my leave. He stood there a little lost, not sure what how to take this situation. As I pushed him lightly, that the pie is getting cold, the sorcerer allowed it, however...,"I will give you ten minutes to eat and then, you come back." Well, it was worth a try.

At least I can prepare myself mentally for the humiliation.

In another room, I inspected the pie. Remembering what the guard said, the food was split in half, revealing an item that doesn't belong in a pie. A small piece of paper wrapped in a foil cane into sight. Now it made sense. Curious, I looked over the piece, while my heart skipped a beat. A message from Kaiman:

Hey N/A, I need to know where you are. Do you go to that ball thing tomorrow? One bite means yes, none means no. Please tell me.

Your b...friend Kaiman

I frowned, "You were about to write boyfriend...you idiot." Even so, I did what he asked me to. I know that he will do something stupid when I don't reply, that much I know about the lizard man. With one bite, the pie was back in the bag. Thankfully the guard where still around, "Excuse me, couldn't you return this bag to the owner?"

"Wasn't it good?"

I snorted, "It was hideous, return the pie with a message: One bite wasn't worth the effort, it is best to forget me, I am no longer a customer."

The guard just stood there irritated, "What is it with you people? Talking such rubbish and pass it on...I hate my job." Just to be sure, I watched the men go back to the gates, seeing them hand it over to a young man. He bowed and left quickly. I hope that Kaiman understands my message and accepts it. If I could, I would have cried, seeing myself not worthy to be saved. He should just go back and live his live in Hole...without me.

"N/A?"

En's voice caught me off guard, feeling him looking over my shoulder, "What is there to see?"

"I thought the guards were asleep again"

"Hm..." I shuddered, as his hands travelled over my shoulder, "...you know, the ten minutes are already over..."
