This year, the summer holidays ended early, with the students having taken their final exams in mid-June and taking the summer off, while the teachers were finally able to take a break.

Under Ning Wan’s soft persuasion, Shen Shuyun finally agreed to go on a holiday to an island with him.

The location of the island was a bit remote. The two of them took a flight for more than ten hours, and then went to the port and took a boat ride for several hours before they arrived at the island.

Shen Shuyun was so tired that he couldn’t even keep his eyes opened, and fell into a deep sleep when they arrived at the hotel.

When he opened his eyes again, it was already early morning on the second day.

Shen Shuyun looked at the dimly lit room and only after a long time did he realize that the curtains were closed, so he got out of bed with his bare feet, tugged on the middle of the curtain and pulled it towards the sides.

The faint morning light came straight in and hit his face, causing Shen Shuyun to squint his eyes slightly.

The white, fine sand on the beach glistened slightly in the sunlight, and as there were no people on the beach at this time of day, it was a quiet and peaceful morning that made even Shen Shuyun relaxes.

There was a small rattle from within the room, followed by a modest grinding sound, Shen Shuyun turned around to see Ning Wan standing in the doorway with a cup of black coffee, smiling towards him.
“Good morning, Brother Yun.”

“Good morning.”

Shen Shuyun couldn’t help but smile along with him.

Ning Wan called the reception and asked for two continental breakfasts to be served and brought to one of the long tables in the suite for them to enjoy.

Shen Shuyun looked around at the luxurious suite and couldn’t help but wonder, “Ning Wan isn’t this suite very expensive? Where did you get the money?”

“It wasn’t expensive, it was just luck. The hotel upgraded my room for free after I booked it.”

Ning Wan smiled, but in his heart he was secretly thinking, the whole island belonged to his family, so why would he care about any suites, “Don’t worry Brother Yun, this island is not as expensive as you might think.”
Shen Shuyun responded half-heartedly and lowered his head to continue with his breakfast.
“After breakfast later on, let’s go for a walk on the beach, ok?”

“Ok.”

The island was developed with a holiday concept, so apart from diving activities and beach volleyball, there were no other entertainment facilities, nor were there any major shopping venues.

Many beach umbrellas were set up on the beach; Ning Wan was hiding under them, drinking ice-cold watermelon juice and watching Shen Shuyun swim back and forth in the blue sea.

After a few rounds of swimming, Shen Shuyun suddenly remembered Ning Wan who was out with him in his swimming trunks, so he swam back to the shore and stood in the water up to his ankles, waving his arms at Ning Wan and greeting him, “Ning Wan, come and swim too!”

Ning Wan shook his head from his lounge chair.

The drowning accident more than ten years ago had left a huge psychological shadow on him; Ning Wan had become afraid of the water and no longer dared to swim at will.
That feeling of being one step away from death still made his heart palpitate when he thought back on it, so much so that he did not want to go into the water at all.
