Ashton:

"You want highlights?" You raise your eyebrows at the sixteen year old boy standing in front of you.

"Yeah," he nods nervously.

"Tell you what," you close your magazine, standing up. "I'll let you get highlights if you go grocery shopping with me."

"Deal," Gabe smiles instantly.

"I'll help you, but if something goes wrong you're dealing with it," you mumble to him, walking to your car.

"Got it, mom."

Luke:

"Mommy, daddy, Uncle Mikey said he dyed his hair pink for me," your four year old daughter, Sara, runs into the living room where you're watching a movie with your husband, Luke.

"Did he now?" You raise your eyebrows at Luke who gives you a look like he didn't know it was going to happen.

"I wanna dye my hair to match Uncle Mikey," Sara sets her hands on your knees. "Please mommy?"

A sudden idea strikes in your head and a smile spreads across your face. "Okay, sweetie."

You stand up and Luke grabs your hand, trying to stop you. "Y/N she's four."

You wink at him. "Don't worry, Luke, I got this."

(Later)

"Look, Uncle Mikey! Mommy dyed my hair pink so I can match you!" Sara screeches, jumping into her Uncle's arms.

"That's great, Sara," he smiles at her and Luke, Michael and you watch as she runs away.

"Is that hair chalk?" Michael asks.

"Michael she's four," you snicker.

Calum:

"Now we wait thirty minutes," you tell your fourteen year old daughter.

She nods.

"I still can't believe you're doing this," Calum says from the doorway

."Cal, it's all she wanted for her birthday," you sigh.

"Why red? Of all colors?" Calum questions her.

"It's my favorite color," she shrugs.

"Think of it this way, it's not purple," you tell your husband.

"I'm gonna go call Mikey and yell at him some more," Calum responds, disappearing from the doorway.

Michael:

"It's complete," your fifteen year old daughter sings, walking out of the bathroom. "Look mom, it's dried and straightened too."

She swings her freshly dyed lilac hair around.

"Calm down, Hayden," you laugh from your spot on the couch.

"Babe, you should dye your hair too. We can be the purple family," Michael walks out of the bathroom with matching hair.

"A woman in her thirties with purple hair?" You raise your eyebrows at your husband.

"Dad's a man in his thirties with purple hair," Hayden points out.

"Come on babe, it'll be cool," Michael whines.

After a bit more convincing and an hour of hair dying, the three of you have matching purple hair.

"Hey guys, sorry I was with my girlfriend-"You, your husband, and your daughter look up from your spot on the couch to where your seventeen year old son is walking in the door.

Shandon stops, staring at the rest of his family. "What did I miss?"

"Babe I forgot we had another kid!" Michael cries out, resting his head on your shoulder.

So I'm trying to see if it'll work if I write the authors note first then copy and paste. I don't know how this will turn out, though.

What do you get if you cross some ants with tics?

BTW, it worked :)
