Ashton:

Even though going on with you gone still upsets me,

There are days every now and again I pretend I’m okay

“Hey Y/N!” A classmate from school calls out as you grocery shop.

You stop and smile at her as she walks towards you.

“It’s been a while,” she laughs.

“Yeah, it has,” you force a laugh, Ashton’s face at the back of your mind.

He would be laughing now as well, even though he didn’t know her.

“I’ve heard about your boyfriend,” she gives you a look of sympathy.

You hate those looks.

“I’m so sorry. Are you okay? You know, with him being gone,” She asks, concerned.

“I’m okay.”

What a lie.

Michael:

What hurts the most was being so close,

And having so much to say,

And watching you walk away

“So do you want to go out?” Michael asks you.

It’s been a complicated relationship.

You both really like each other, but there’s so many obstacles in the way.

You search for the words in your brain.

You know you want to say yes, but you want to say why, and how you love him, and why you love him- but now he’s walking away.

And he’s leaving.

And he thinks that you don’t love him back.

But you just watch him go, trying to convince yourself that you didn’t love him anyways.

Luke:

I would trade,

Give away,

All the words that I saved in my heart,

That I left unspoken

You stare at the magazine with 5 Seconds of Summer on it.

Three boys that used to be your best friends, one that used to be your boyfriend.

“I really love you. I know I never told you this, but I was just scared that you would never say it back to me. I’m in love with you, Luke. And I would trade anything, I would give away anything, to tell you this,” you whisper to the magazine.

“You just did,” a voice says from behind you.

You turn around to see Luke smiling at you.

“Now you just have to trade me your heart. I’ll give you mine,” Luke says.

Calum:

And never knowing what could have been,

And not seeing that loving you is what I was trying to do

“Why don’t you love me, Calum?” You ask with a shaky voice, tears in your eyes.

“I just-“he stutters.

“Whatever, whatever this is, it’s over,” you sigh, walking away.

“I’m trying. I’m trying to love you,” he whispers as you leave.
