Luke:

“Are you ready, babe?” Luke asks you as he grips your hand tightly.

You nod and smile widely. “Are you ready, Alana?” You turn to your seven year old daughter.

She nods and grins at you.

After having Alana, your doctor told you that you couldn’t have any more kids.

But Alana was begging and begging for siblings.

And Luke and you wanted more kids.

So you decided to bring her to an adoption center to look for a brother or sister for her seventh birthday.

You walk through the doorway into the room where all of the orphans were.

Alana grips your hand tighter and you look around.

Luke leaves you two to go talk to some of the kids and you lead Alana to a wall.

You two lean against it and look around.

You hear a big sigh and look over to see a girl who looks a little older than Alana leaning against the wall about a foot and a half away from her.

“Hi,” Alana’s voice says to her.

You act like you’re watching the kids in front of you, but you’re really paying attention to them.

“Hey,” the girl replies.

“My name’s Alana. What’s your name?” Alana turns her body towards her.

“I’m Jessy,” the girl replies.

“What’s that?” You turn to see Alana pointing to the sketchbook in Jessy’s arms.

“It’s a sketchbook,” Jessy replies, “I draw in it.”

“That’s really cool. Can I see your sketches?” Alana asks.

Jessy nods and they both sit down, flipping through the sketchbook.

“Hey babe,” a voice suddenly whispers.

Arms wrap around your waist and you turn around to see Luke. You kiss his cheek and whisper, “Alana made a new friend.”

“Hi there,” Luke says, sitting down in front of Alana and Jessy and pulling you down onto his lap.

“Hi,” Jessy says shyly.

“What’s your name?” Luke asks her.

“I’m Jessy.”

“That’s my mummy and my daddy,” Alana adds.

“How old are you, Jess? Do you mind if I call you that?” You ask her.

“I don’t mind. I’m eleven,” she blushes.

“So you two get along?” Luke asks.

Alana nods and Jessy grins.

“So you wouldn’t mind be sisters?” You wink at them.

“Are you for real?” Alana gasps.

“Seriously?” Jessy asks.

“Yeah, come on babe, let’s go sign the papers,” Luke says.

Calum:

“I’m home,” you call out as you slam the door behind you and slip your shoes off.

“Y/N can you come here!” Calum calls from the living room.

You walk in to see your daughter, Talia, watching Cinderella on the TV with Caitlin, Michael’s daughter.

“Where’s daddy?” You ask them.

“In there?” Talia points to the closet where Michael’s twin sons, Zeke and Keaton are standing in front of, giggling.

“Did you guys lock daddy in the closet?” You chuckle, walking over to the closet.

“Yeah,” Zeke giggles.

“Alright, go play with your Legos, you two, I’ll join you in a minute,” you shoo them off.

You unlock the closet and Calum falls out and pulls you into a hug.

“I don’t know how Michael did it,” Calum buries his face in your hair.

“It’s going to be hard at the start, darling. But they’re just like our own,” you sooth him, rubbing his back.

Michael died a year ago in a car crash with his wife.

He said if he ever were to die, his kids went to Calum and you.

So you two got his daughter, Caitlin, who’s six years old, and his twin boys, Keaton and Zeke who are three years old.

They’re now your kids, along with the daughter you two had yourselves, your five year old daughter, Talia.

Suddenly little arms wrap around your legs and you look down to see that Keaton and Zeke are hugging your legs.

The two of you bend down and pull them into a group hug.

“Join in the hug, girls!” You call out.

The two girls join your hug.

And it’s like you’re a family.

With Michael watching you.

Did I make you cry?
