Ashton:

“Happy fourth of July!” You burst out of your hotel room you shared with Ashton into the living room where all of the boys were watching TV.

They turned their attention to you, where you were standing with an American flag shorts, an American flag sweater, and star shaped sunglasses on the top of your head, and an America flag in one of your hands.

You were raised in America, and you had a lot of American pride, along with the other Americans.

So when the fourth of July rolled around, oh boy…

They all laughed at your outfit.

“Guys we gotta go to the parade and then a barbeque my family’s hosting and then the fireworks, fireworks are the best on the fourth of July,” you ramble on, walking into the kitchen to make some food.

“My little American,” Ashton giggles.

Calum:

“America?” You raise your eyebrows.

He nods, his gaze downcast so he doesn’t have to meet yours.

You sigh, leaning over the couch, your hands over your face.

“You’re touring America,” you repeat.

“Yeah,” he mutters.

“For how long?” You ask him.

“Eight months,” he replies, pulling you into a hug.

Your boyfriend, touring America, for eight months.

Oh gosh.

You were going to miss him so much.

But you should cuddle while you still can.

Before he leaves.

Michael:

Michael opens the door to the hotel room where you were going to meet his bandmates.

“Guys we’re here!” Michael calls out as you two step in.

You hear noises from the living room so the two of you walk in there.

“Hey, say something,” the Calum one requests of you.

“Michael told us you’re American, we wanna listen to American accents,” Luke explains.

“I don’t have an accent,” you say.

“Yes you do, see, you just did it,” Ashton tries to point out.

“No I don’t! You guys are the ones who have accents!” You argue.

“No, there’s four of us against one of you,” Calum smirks.

“But you’re in my country, so technically you guys have the accents,” you point out.

“She’s got a point there,” Michael laughs.

“I like her already,” Luke grins at you.

Luke:

You sit in your seat at the baseball game, watching the Milwaukee Brewers go against the New York Yankees.

“And now let’s present Hugh Dawson preform the Star Spangled Banner,” the voice says over the speaker.

You stand up, along with the other people around you.

Well, the boys stay seated, they just look confused.

You motion for them to stand up and they stand.

You place your hand on your heart and they follow along with what you’re doing.

You do know what you’re doing, you’re American after all.

The boys were hopeless with singing the Star Spangled Banner, they didn’t know how to sing it.

“O’er the land of the free,

And the home of the brave,” you finish singing your nation’s song, removing your hand from your heart and sitting down again.

“I love your American-ness,” Luke whispers from beside you.

You blush.
