Calum:

“You don’t know what I’ve been through,” he yells,

And he says, “You don’t know what I’ve done for you”,

And hits her again.

Your boyfriend, Mark towers over you.

He’s already hit you today.

“I’m so sorry, Mark,” you squeak out, not knowing what you did wrong.

All you know is that you needed to apologize.

“You don’t what I’ve been through!” He yells, raising his hand. “You don’t know what I’ve done for you!” And he lowers it, smacking your cheek harshly.

You fall to the ground from the impact.

That’s when the front door bursts open, five police officers rushing in with their guns raised, yelling.

You start to cry, not knowing what to do with the police officers yelling at Mark and Mark yelling profanities at you.

You didn’t call the police.

Your neighbor, Calum, rushes in and ducks down beside you, pulling you into his arms.

You finally get it.

Calum called the police.

You bury your face in his neck and wrap your arms around it while he sits down, pulling you into his lap and wraps his arms around your hips.

He just lets you cry.
