Escape the Night: Season 3 (My Way + Self-Insert OC)

The Séance

Night falls as the group stands around a fire. Nine people were there, yet one was missing.

"Where's Joey?" MatPat questioned, "I haven't seen him in a while." Rosanna continued, "A very long while." Richard added.

Richard: Now here I am, middle of the woods, in front of a fire, about to TIME TRAVEL! And my brain is focused on trying to not fanboy as I'm standing next to motherfu*king Matthew Patthew. You know, they say never meet your heroes, I think he's an exception.

Manny: We're in, like, the middle of nowhere, and it's dark, and we're literally by a fire. We're waiting for, like, 5 hours here. And I'm like, "Honey, like, that's just bad hosting"

"He said a town would be here, and there's no ruins, is this the town?" Richard said pointing at the fire. "This is clearly not the town." MatPat chuckled out.

Safiya: The letter from Joey said there was a town stuck in the 1970s that we have to save. Now I love the 1970s.

"I'm just here to see, y'know, like, can we actually time travel?" Safiya said. Richard started to turn, saying, "Alright I think we waited long enough."

"Yeah, I agree-" Manny started to reply when Joey finally appeared. "You guys came!" he exclaimed as everyone cheered at him showing up. Ro hugs Joey before he says "I didn't know if you guys were going to come or not." "We've been waiting for hours, Joey!" Richard exclaimed.

Everyone talked over each other before Safiya managed to say to Joey "We've been really worried about you." "Thank you." was all that came out of Joey's mouth before MatPat asked, "So, tell us about this town." Teala confirmed she also wanted to know with a simple "Yeah."

"Uh, so, I need your help. I really don't know much about how we get there. But I was given this, and we need to save this town." As Joey said that last part, he held up a bag with a symbol that glowed as he talked.

Joey: So I have a mission. I need to save this town if I wanna come back to life, and if that requires my friends possibly putting themselves into danger, it's what I have to do.

"Apparently there's stuff in here that's gonna help us get into the town to save it." Joey continued. "Okay." MatPat replied, "Let's open it." Safiya said before Joey zipped the bag open.

Joey pulled out a rolled piece of paper, "Looks like a scroll." he said. "Should I open it?" Safiya asked as Joey handed it to her. "Not ominous at all." MatPat and Richard joked.

Joey hands Ro a box before pulling out a jar of a white substance, revealing it to be salt.

Nikita smells the box Joey gave Ro saying it "smells expensive" before Safiya gets everyone's attention.

"All right, I've got the instructions. It says, 'Those who desire to go back in time and enter the town of Everlock must be inhabited by a spirit that once lived there." she says before everyone starts talking.

MatPat: All this hoodoo voodoo witchcraft nonsense, not up my alley.

Richard: Wonderful, we're gonna be forcefully possessed just to enter Everlock, which I have to say, if you name your town Everlock, expect weird shit to happen. Whoever named the town that was asked to be forEVER LOCKed in time.

Manny: I was like, "You know, like, I've had a tapeworm, I've had things living in me before, it's not that bad."

"You guys, I think it's gonna be fun, like, you can just get in it?" Nikita said as people laughed before Manny agreed saying, "It would, it would."

Joey stopped them all by saying "Okay, guys, come on, we don't have much time!" Everyone sped to do things.

Saifya: So basically, it says that we have to make a circle of salt, and then put these five crystals at the head of the circle, hold hands, and chant something.

Joey reads outs the chant.

From across the veil of death, I request your presence, so I might make wrong things right. Enter into that I might see the doorway to Everlock.

The fire starts to glow as Joey reads before bursting with green energy afterwards, a cluster of souls flying out, going through Manny, then Teala, then MatPat, but before it hit Richard he was able to notice it caused an orange glow of his skull to appear on his face before it went to Richard.

It was a weird experience. Warm, shocking, it felt dangerous yet somehow inviting. Then it moved to Roi, then Safiya, then Joey, then Ro, then JC, and finally Nikita.

The cluster went back in the fire as everyone's screams slowly ceased, recoiling and leaning, MatPat coughed heavily.

MatPat: It wasn't bad. It was- It was warm and tingly.

"Guys, look over there." was the first thing Joey, in fact, anyone, said. Everyone looked in disbelief, Roi saying what everyone was thinking with a simple "No..." that was never able to find its way.

A bridge was forming right in front of their eyes, lights surrounded the horizontal bars and vertical beams underneath. An archway forms from the lights at the end of the bridge, curtains fall to the floor. A sign atop it that reads "Town of Everlock."

Safiya: So, in the distance, we see this bridge and an arch that says "Town of Everlock." So that seems like where we should go.

Richard: I see the bridge form in front of us, and all I'm thinking is "Where's two sticks I can use to make a cross, cause if that can happen, who can say that DEMONS and HELL isn't real!"
