Roi picked up the note next to the Maiden and read, "Seal the blood doll in the Maiden's face to open the chamber." Ro looked up at where the blood doll needed to go, "Yeah, I don't think I can reach that." Manny walked over to Ro, "I'm the tallest. Let me do it."
Roi: In order to unlock whatever's in the Maiden, we have to give it the doll the other group got.
Manny inserted the doll into the Maiden's face and the group heard a click. "Okay, Manny, I think we need to open it." Joey said. He and Manny walked up to the Maiden's doors and opened them revealing blood on the back wall and spikes on the inside of the doors. "Oh, my God! Nope, nope, uh-uh." was all Joey could say as he turned his back and walked away.
Richard: The Maiden of Madness was an Iron Maiden. I should've seen this coming.
Rosanna: There are spikes, tons of blood, organs on the ground.
Manny: It honestly looked like something out of a horror movie.
Safiya read from a note attached to one of the doors, "You have opened the Maiden of Madness, and regret will surely follow. To cleanse the Night Killer's doll, it must first be placed in the chamber beneath her feet." Sure enough, a chamber at the Maiden's base opened up. Richard walked over with the Night Killer's doll in hand and put it inside, "Bye-bye creepy skin doll." he mocked as he closed the chamber with his foot.
Safiya continued reading, "Then one of you must be chosen by vote to forfeit their life and enter the Maiden. Once the door has been sealed and their screams have ceased, the doll will be cleansed. Choose wisely, Their death will weigh on your conscience." Richard looked in disbelief, "So one of us has to commit suicide?" he asked dumbfounded. "We have to choose someone right now to go inside there." Joey restated as Manny stepped away from the Maiden.
Joey: We literally have to choose one of our friends to die right here, right now.
Safiya: No challenge, no chance to fight.
"Do you remember how, on the map, it said that there will be blood on our hands?" Safiya asked before Manny realized, "This is what they meant." Calliope went to a table and started to pull out the card when Roi stopped her, "I'll do it." he said, shocking everyone in the group.
Roi's POV
"What do you mean you'll do it?" Richard asked, "It means I'm going in there."
Everyone tries to dissuade me when I yell, "Listen to me!" I walk over and point to Safiya, then Joey, then Richard and Ro, and finally Manny. "You're smart, you're, apparently, our lynchpin that we need, you're also smart and both of you are team players who will get even more depressed if the other dies, and you're strong." I finish and point to myself, "I'm the only choice that makes sense."
Richard ran and hugged me for the final time as Calliope said, "The Daredevil has volunteered to go in the Maiden, does everyone agree?" Richard pulled away with tears in his eyes before turning to Calliope, "Yes. Yes, we do." I walk over to the Maiden and place my back on the blood-covered wall. I can see Safiya run over to comfort Ro and Richard, who've turned away and covered their ears.
Joey and Manny walked up to each of the doors and said their goodbyes. They push the doors but before anything hurts me, I call out, "Goodbye guys!" The spikes begin to penetrate my skin making me scream, every vital organ starts getting punctured as my life begins to fade.
Sorry, Richard, but I was the only sensible option.
