The Tower

"It's over there, you guys." Safiya said walking towards the pole dance platform, "It has to be over here." Manny said, walking after her. "I just, I keep going over there and I can't find anything. Safiya explains to the group as they follow her and Manny.

Everyone looked around the room for the word. "Should we just lift up the cushions?" Joey suggested before doing so. "Oh, in!" Safiya yelled before they all ran back to the table with the photos.

Manny: We finally solve the riddle.

"It's green snakes in cold grass." Safiya said as she walked over to the table. MatPat, Ro, JC, Richard, Roi, Calliope, and Mortimer sneak their way to Fat Man Slims. "Like a snake." MatPat whispered to the others, getting a quiet chuckle out of Richard.

"Oh, my God. They're coming." Manny said looking out the door window and seeing the missing members returning. "Is that Richard?" Nikita asked even though it was obvious. Joey repeated come in while Manny was happy Richard was back.

Safiya: So with everyone inside, I head up the stairs to give the password to the guy behind the door.

The man opened the flap again and looked at Safiya before she said the password. "Head downstairs. I'll meet you shortly." the man said before closing the flap. A minute or two later the man walked down, "Well, well, look at this lot."

"Each of yous take a card." the man ordered. Everyone grabbed a card while JC looked at the back door. "Wait, why did the door just open?" he asked, "That's Rodrigo and his friend. He's my manservant." the man responded while Rodrigo and the friend carried a rectangle covered with a cloth into the bar.

Nikita: Do I have some kind of dating app on or something where are all these hunky men coming out of.

The two men placed the tower on the group's table. Everyone gasped wondering what it was.

Joey: I have no idea what could be under that blanket, but whatever it is it's not gonna be good.

The man from the door unclothed the rectangle revealing it to be a green with gold accents version of Jenga. "That's taller than me." Ro said as it was being unveiled.

Rosanna: The cover comes off and it is a snake tabletop game.

"It's time to play The Serpent's Game, where the ante is your life. Inside this tower there's a golden brick and it's up to you to find it, and place it on the pedestal right there. You topple over the tower, you go onto the final death challenge. No vote. Flip your cards over. Now that's the order that you go in." the man exposited to the group.

MatPat: Basically, the object of The Serpent's Game was to find the golden brick that was hidden in this wooden tower.

Joey: If you knock over this tower, your name goes directly into the death challenge.

Safiya: No pressure.

Nikita gasped, "I have ace, what does that mean?" People in the group told her that meant she was first. She went up and picked a block quickly and put it on top of the tower. JC went next and carefully placed another block on top. "Who's three?" Joey asked before Ro held up her card. Richard's eyes went wide seeing the height of Ro to the tower.

Rosanna: This tower is massive. It's taller than me. So I'm so nervous because I don't know... physics.

Ro screamed as the tower started to wobble, "Just wiggle, wiggle." she said as she wiggled out a piece and placed it on the top. "Who's four?" Richard called out, "Me." Joey answered before very quickly pulling out a piece. "I was the quickest, so just wanna..."

Multiple rotations occurred until it was Roi's turn again. He finished placing a tile on top when MatPat started to speak. "Here's the thing. One of these that actually provides structural integrity could be the one with the gold."

"Right, so it could be a suicide mission." Richard said. It was MatPat's turn when Roi began to joke, "You saved my life though, you saved my life, Mat. I can do this for you." MatPat joking replied "You are a daredevil. You could jump across this table and stop me as I do this."

Nikita took it seriously and stood up to fire at Roi. "How are you literally the daredevil and you're not going to take a chance for all of us?" Everyone was shocked when, at the same time, Richard moved closer to Roi, seeing that something bad would happen. "I'm just saying he literally saved your life." she continued.

Nikita: Why don't you step up, sir?

"You want me to do it?" Roi asked her, Richard stepping closer while inching his arm closer to being in front of Roi. "I want you to do it. If you are the daredevil of this group then prove it." Nikita fired back.

Richard fully put his arm in front of Roi, "Now Roi, this is what my family likes to call 'stupid shit.' We don't do stupid shit." Roi calmed down and Nikita sat back down before MatPat returned to grabbing a tile. A few turns later, Richard was up. He scanned through a bricks and grabbed one. He carefully pulled it out when the tower fell.

MatPat: It collapses. Richard's being sent to the final challenge.

Roi: That's such a shame, y'know? He saved me from death, but, he was smart and a team player, and now he could die.

Richard looked down at his piece, "Oh, goodie." he flatly said holding it up so everyone could see. "It was a suicide mission." he continued before placing the piece on the pedestal.

Richard: What is with my luck tonight? Getting drawn for challenge 1, bitten by Miss Snake, and now forced into challenge 2?

The chest next to the pedestal opened revealing an oversized snake head. "Oh, boy. Big mama coming through!" Richard jokingly said, trying to add joy to the events before what could be his demise.

Safiya: Inside the chest was the serpent's head and a note.

Safiya placed the eyes in the eyeholes of the snake before grabbing the note to read out to the group. "To finish cleansing the artifact, two must be selected by vote and search the innards of a serpent to claim its heart."
