MatPat's POV
I open my eyes to see a wooden roof. I get up and look around, seeing I'm inside the church in Everlock. I look out a window to see the bridge Joey was standing out earlier this hour. I walk to the adjacent window to see three figures in the field, the only way I could tell who they were was the silhouettes.
One of the figures was a man while the other two were women. There wasn't much I could see other than the bob on one of the figures' heads. "Nikita." I say to myself, "Then, that must mean this is-" I start to say when I was interrupted. "The afterlife." I turned around to see who spoke, seeing a blonde woman and an Asian man who I hadn't noticed before.
"Well, technically, Limbo. The land between the living and the dead." the Asian man said. "And that is?" I ask, pointing at the window where my dead friends are, "The Land of The Dead." the blonde answered followed by the Asian man elaborating. "Heaven, Hell, Purgatory." he finished, "Why are you here?" I ask another question, this time the Asian man answered.
"We're dead and we're counting on one of your friends to finish a mission and bring us back." he responded. "Bring us back? You can't just-" I begin to yell when I stop myself and remember what Joey said earlier.
Um, truth is, I died. I-I died and I woke up in this town. I was so scared. I didn't know what was going on. And I signed a contract that I would save this town and they would bring me back to life. And if I don't save this town, I die with it.
My lips start to tremble as I realize Joey was right, they need him, WE need him. "Why- Why am I here with you and not with them in whatever field they're frolicking in?" I ask the two people with me, finger at the window again, my voice trembling. "Because you still have a future." the blonde spoke when I heard yelling.
I run over to the window to see someone falling from the sky to where the rest of the dead are. Has an hour already passed? I question how long it's been when I see the door of the church glow orange. I start walking towards the door when I see a blinding light.
