The Toxic Lair Challenge

"Maybe by going through this process, you'll find that fire." Manny suggested to Ro, and also JC, but mostly Ro. The two challengers and Richard got up, the one not competing went to hug each of them.

When he hugged Ro his eyes were filled with tears. He mumbled something only Ro could hear before sitting back down.

"Please come back..."

JC and Ro followed Calliope and Mortimer to the lair. The reached a bridge, The Man With No Name standing accross from them. JC began to read the rules, "There are two sets of eight letters hidden throughout the lair that spell the name of The Man With No Name- one red and one yellow. The first to find thier set and arrange them must call out his name."

Rosanna: In this challenge, we need to run around, find all the letters, and figure out what this guys name is.

JC continued to read, "They will then recieve the blood gem, and the other will be strangled."

Rosanna (cont.): It's like a dark, creepy, Easter egg hunt.

"All right, are you ready?" Mortimer asked the two fighter, each nodding thier head. "JC, you remember, you're yellow. Ro, you're red." Mortimer told the two, both repeating thier color. "Approach the bridge." He told them, JC reaching for Ro's hand before walking with her to the bridge's edge.

JC: After running away from The Man With No Name for so long, the fact that we are going to his lair terrifies me.

"Good luck." Mortimer said, letting the two know the challenge has begun, JC let Ro run in first before running himself. "I'm scared for them." Calliope said to Mortimer. "Red, red." Ro said to herself looking through the fog.

Rosanna: This fog is thick. I can't see anything. I have to move like he does. And while this is going on, The Man With No Name is chasing us.

Ro and JC look through the fog, JC's hand leaving his pocket, when the tall creature approches, making them run away. JC looked down, saw his first letter, and grabbed it.

Ro found hers and put it on her table before running away from The Man With No Name screamng. JC grabbed his second letter and placed it on his table while Ro was hiding behind a tree.

They continued to run and search for letters when Ro found her second letter. Ro started walking like the creature she was running from and found her third letter as JC ran from the monster with his third too.

JC: I end up getting three, I look over and Ro also has three.

Ro ran to her table and placed her fourth letter down while JC took his hand out of his pocket again. She ran away from her table and found her fifth, she ran back and placed it down.

JC was lookng around for more letters when Ro found her sixth. She placed it down and ran off to look for the last two. "Where haven't I looked? Maybe over here." Ro said to herself before running off in a direction.

She grabbed her penultimate letter and ran again. "This is the last time I wear Platform Oxfords." she says after placing the letter down. JC started to slowly walk to his table when he heard Ro had seven letters.

JC's POV

I reach my table as Ro runs over with her eighth letter. "Ro." I call out as I reach into my pocket. She looks over just in time to see me pull out my five missing letters from my pocket.

"W-why?" She asks, "It's simple, so Richard can be happy. I saw him tear up when you couldn't plead your case, so I knew that if both of us got voted in, you'd have to leave. So go. Finish the challenge. I'll be okay." I respond.

I just stand there accepting my fate as Ro puts the name together. "B-Benjamin, Benjamin, that's your name! Benjamin!" she calls out at the monster, the glass case holding the stone glows and opens.

"Run!" I yell at her before turning to the monster in front of me. I hold my arms out as it grabs me by the neck, breathing poisonous gas at my face. In the corner of my eye, I can see Ro grab the blood gem and stare at what's happening.

"Run..." I manage to squeeze out as my face melts. The last thing I hope for is that she escapes both the monster now chasing after her and this stupid, horrid town.
