amaris' leg bounced relentlessly as she sat on the edge of her bed, she was supposed to be in bed, trying to sleep. but what was the point when she knew she wouldn't be able to, so instead she head her headphones on with the volume all the way up in hopes it would chase her thoughts away. but it wouldn't, the only thing that ever actually did was ravi and before him, barney, but barney was gone and she didn't want to burden ravi. even though he always swore she didn't, she always felt like she did so instead of calling him she would sit awake until she quite literally passed out from exhaustion.

ravi himself was tossing and turning in his bed, for whatever reason something was nagging him and not allowing him to go to sleep. something was telling him to call her but he didn't want to because he was afraid she was asleep and he'd wake her. but still everything in him told him that he needed to call her.
cursing he grabs his phone and unlocks it, he stares down at his lockscreen that was -- ofcourse-- a photo of amaris. it was a photo he had taken of her as she was laughing with josh and pip who were laying on her. he smiles brightly before going to her contact and calling her.

amaris jumps when her music his cut off by her ringtone, she grumbles, unhappy that someone inturepted her music.
"hello?" she asks as she answers the call.
"hi. sorry did I wake you?" amaris couldn't fight the smile the settled on he slips the second she hear ravis voice.
"no, I was up. are you okay, usually in the one calling in the middle of the night."
"yea, I don't know I just couldn't sleep."
"well luckily for you I couldn't either."
"I guess but apart of me wanted you to not answer because you were asleep."
"oh so you hate, and don't want to hear my voice. that's okay, I mean I'm glad to know how you really feel."
"please shut the hell up."
"rude. do you want to come over?"
"how much trouble are you going to get in if I come over right now?"
"it won't be anything bad my parents love you."
"yea, moon, I'm not sure they'd love to wake up and find me in their house."
"okay so I'll go over to your house."
"no, it's too late for you to walk here and pip most definitely not give you her keys."
"so what do we do then."
"we can just stay on call."
"that boringgg!"
"but keeps you out trouble so definitely the one we're going with."
"I hate you."
"okay, love-" ravi cuts himself off with wide eyes, holy shit he almost said that.
"love? another pet name? ravi, this isn't fair I only have one for you." she whines.
"sound like you need to step up your game." ravi jokes, greatfully she didn't catch onto what he was going to say.

she could always hear him before he announced himself, she could tell his footsteps apart from everyone else's.
"hello, moon." ravi beams as he places a kiss on her forhead.
"hi, baby." she mumbles wrapping her arms around his torso.
"see that's a pet name!"
"yea but its basic ass pet name."
"so is 'love'" ravi points out.
"yea but I need something different, I mean you have three. but onto more important topics are you okay?"
"bit nervous but definitely better now that I'm with you."
"that's cheesy."
"oh my God can you guys stop, please." pip pleads as she walks closer to them, "there's already a few hundred people there, and the news vans were setting up when we walked home earlier." 
"oh is that why you guys are in disguise?" ravi asks referring to the hoodies that the two had pulled over their heads.
"just until we get past them." pip says as amaris shifts so that ravis arm was around her while they walked, "how'd court go?" pip asks and amaris shoots her a glare.
"we can talk about that tomorrow if you wa-"
"no it's okay, love. well it wasn't okay. i mean, it wasn’t okay. today was one of the girls who lived in the same halls as max at university. they played her 911 call from the morning after." amaris saw ravi gulp, "and in cross-examination, epps went in on her, of course: no dna profile lifted from the rape kit, no memory, that sort of thing. you know, watching epps sometimes makes me reconsider if i really want to be a criminal defence solicitor."
"uh uh if you give up on your dream im giving up on mine, plus epps is just an asshole. you, ravi singh, are not an asshole." amaris reassures, planting a kiss onto his cheek.
they had worked out a whole plan, ravi would apply for a six-year apprenticeship and amaris would major in photojournalism, ravi joked that she could cover all his cases.
"are you ready? we can wait a bit before going in." amaris asks stopping and turning to look at him as amaris waited a few feet away.
"no I'm ready, just- promise you won't leave me alone in there."
"I wouldn't dare, meine liebe."
"oh? and what's this, a new nickname?"
"it's german -- my first dads parents are german-- it means 'my love'."
"thats really cute, I like that."
"yea?"
"most definitely." ravi mumbles before pulling her into a passionate kiss. amaris stumbles some from the intensity but quickly recovers and kissing back just as passionately, her hands gripping his shirt tightly, while ravis were holding her face.
"holy shit, okay, I really wasn't expecting that ravi." amaris mumbles when they pull away.
"yea i don't know it was impulsive." he says back and amaris nods laughing.
"we should probably go in now."
"mhm, especially since sarge is glaring at us."
