disclaimers: I don't own ggbb and im going insane
"this is impossible," conner sighs leanning back in his chair, that was borfowed from the kitchen as amarid typed in the differant variables of leilas name.
pip spun in her chair, her head tilted at the ceiling, "annoying our catfish chose a name with so many damn variant spellings." pip went back to her laptop and scrolled through a whle plethora of leighlas om instagram whil amaris searched on facebook.
"we're never going to find her," conner says and amaris sighs before sighing once again when there was a knock on the bedroom door.
"go away, ill play with you later, i promise." amaris calls to what she believed to be her brother
the door opened and ravi stood there with and eyebrow raised and carnations in one hand.
"oh! hi, baby! i thought you were josh, sorry." amaris smiles standing up and dropping her laptop into conners lap haphazardly before making her way to her boyfriend.
"hi, love. its fine, you can still play with me later," Ravi says with a smirk and amaris reddens looking away as pip blindly throws a pen at ravi making him and conner chuckle.
amaris took the flowers from ravi and placed them in her vase adding water and food as ravi smiled at conner as a greeting and ruffled pips hair as he passes. he sat on pips desk right infront of amaris' abandoned desk chair.
"how was the rest of trial today?" pip asks as amaris sits in her desk chair, hooking her pinky with ravis and leaned forward and placed her chin on ravis legs.
"it was ok." ravi shrugs and looks down at what they were doing, "final victim gave her testimony this morning. and they presented andie bell's burner phone to try prove it was max who regularly bought rohypnol from her. then the defence kicked off after lunch break, called max's mum to the stand first."
"oh? how'd that go?" pip and maris asks in sync.
ravi shook off the weirdness of that before answering, "epps asked her about max's childhood, when he almost died of leukaemia aged seven. his mum talked about his bravery during the illness how sensitive and caring and sweet he was." amaris stifgles a laugh at ravis tone, "how quiet and shy max was in school after the all-clear because he'd been held back a year. how he's carried these traits into adulthood. she was quite convincing,"
"well, I think that's because she is quite convinced that her son isn't a rapist," pip says, "epps is probably ecstatic, that's like hitting the goldmine."
"what's better than childhood cancer to humanize your client?" amaris adds
"my thoughts exactly," ravi threads his hand through his girlfriends hair, "we'll record the update later, yeah? what are we doing now, looking for the catfish? that's not how you spell leyla," he pointed
"it's one of the many ways," pip sighs, "we're hitting blanks here."
"what about the sighting from the bookshop guy?" ravi asks frowning at the exhaustion that was radiating off of the two girls.
"yeah, we think it's legit," pip nods
"11:40 walking halfway up wyvil road. four eyewitnesses." amaris adds
"well," canner spoke quietly and amaris inhaled already annoyed that she would have to listen to pip explain again, "they didn't agree on everything."
"no?" ravi asks glancing at his girlfriend
"slight conflicting accounts on what jamie was wearing," pip answers, "two saw him in the burgundy shirt, two thought he'd been wearing something like a hoodie instead." she turns to conner, "small inconsistencies in eyewitness accounts are normal. human memory isn't infallible. but four people swearing they saw your brother with otherwise matching accounts, we can trust that."
