amaris' eyelids felt like they wayed a half ton she wanted nothing more than to just let sleep over take her but she kept telling herself to get up and eat before going upstairs and going to bed yet she never actually got up instead she stayed on the couch half listening to toy story, that was playing on the tv. the night before amaris had been sleeping rather peacefully until she woke up for whatever reason but the wasn't a problem because she was tired enough to fall back asleep the problem was that pip wasn't anywhere in the room and when she checked the rest of the house she wasn't there either, that's when fear struck deep in amaris she frantically grabbed her phone and spammed pip till she answered her call, pip explained that she had gone to pick up and extremely drunk cara and was on her way to the wards house to drop her off. apart of amaris felt stupid for worrying so much but the other part of her wouldn't let her fall asleep until she layed eyes on pip so she sat on her bed, her laptop in front of her playing a random octonauts episode, call her stupid but she liked kids shows as long as they weren't super stupid. when pip finally arrived back home amaris put her laptop away and tried to go back asleep but, ofcourse failed, so instead she decided to quietly work on the portfolio she would end up attaching to her collage application.
"how many amazon deliveries does one man need?" pip grumbles when someone knocks on the door
"maybe it's ravi, but that wouldn't make sense because he didn't do his knock but hopefully it's him because I want to see him." amaris rambles as pip walks to the door.
amaris waits a minute before standing up, "is it ravi?" she asks, her face falling some when she sees the person at the door wasn't her boyfriend, "not ravi," amaris sighs before noticing conners flushed and sweaty face, "are you okay, con?"
"no, i’m not." his voice cracks and amaris frowns.
"what’s wrong . . . do you want to come in?" pip stepped back to let conner in
"th-thank you," conner stutters and amaris frown deepens.
"here." pip leads conner to the kitchen
"do you want some water?" amaris asks but doesn't wait for a response before filling up a glass and putting it in front of him.
"did you run here?" pip asks
"yeah." conner took the glass and downed a large gulp, "sorry. i tried to call you and you didn’t answer and i didn’t know what to do other than just come here. and then I thought you might be out or mari at ravi’s house"
"that’s ok. we're right here," pip reassures as she slips into a stool beside him, "what is it? what do you need to speak to us about?"
"conner, has . . . has something happened?" amaris asks fearfully.
"yes," conner nods wiping his chin.
"connor, what?" pip questions.
"it’s my brother," he mumbles, "he . . . he’s missing."
