"Police are here," noami called into the house as pip and Ravi and Mari showed Cara and Conner what they found and what the plan was.
"I'll go deal with them." Pip said and hurried off
"I'll go with, yoh finish explaining" amaris tells Ravi. Who salutes and mutters a 'yes ma'am'
"Hi" pip greets the cops -Daniel de Silva and Soraya
"Eliza said it was you two" daniel glares
"Yep, it's us. Cause of all the trouble in Fairview since 2017," pip smiles sarcastically as amaris glares back at him,"it's this way.'
The twins led them to the knife and watched them look at it then each other before turning back to them "what is this?"
"a knife," Mari deadpans with a glare
"The same knife that's missing from a rack in the Reynoldses' house. Jamie Reynolds, remember,
he's missing? Friends with your sister?" Pip adds
"Yes, I –"
"Case number four nine zero zero one five two –" pip rattles off inturrepted by Daniel
"Yes okay. And what is all this?" He gestures to the group of students way back at the farm house
"Oh this is a search team," pip says
"When the police won't do anything, you've gotta turn to high schoolers instead." Amaris smiles condescendingly
"Right," he shouts "everyone go home! Now!" Effectively the high schoolers disband heading down the road to their houses Ravi, Conner, and the ward sisters stayed standing at the entrance to the farm house.
"This knife is vital evidence to a missing persons case, it needs to be collected and properly documented and handed over to the evidence clerk." Pip is cut off by Daniel again
"Yes, I know how evidence works, did you put this
here?" He points at the knife.
"No!, of course I didn't. I wasn't even here when it was found." Pip denies frowning
"Why would you even fucking ask that?" Amaris glares at him eyes burning with fiery anger
We'll take it," soraya steps in between them. "I'll make sure it's properly dealt with, don't worry."
"Thank you," pip smiles as soraya walks back to the squad car.
"If I find out this isn't real, that you're wasting police time –" amaris cuts him off
"It's real, Jamie Reynolds is really missing. The knife is really here."
"And we know the police don't have the resources to make every case a priority," pip continues "but
please listen to me. Tell Hawkins. Something bad has happened here. I know it has." Daniel was silent eyes on the squad car
"Do you hear her? Someone could be dead!" Amaris exclaims "And you're doing nothing!"
"Something happened to Jamie, right here." Pip points at the knife It has something to do with someone Jamie's been talking to online. A woman called Layla Mead but that's not her r—" pip cuts off eyes darting to Daniel's face because as soon as she said Layla Daniel had stiffened and dropped his eyes like he was hiding from the two of them. Pink dusted his cheeks as his hair fell into his eyes
"You know layla," pip observes "you've been talking to her too?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about." He denies
"You've been talking to layla" amaris insists "do you know who she really is?"
"I haven't been talking to anyone," daniel hisses making both pip and Mari tense "no one, you understand? And if I hear a word about this from you two again . . ." He trails off but pip and Mari could guess what he was gonna say.
Pip and Mari finished dinner and left the table telling their parents they were going to bed but as Mari sat on her bed in Ravi's hoodie and pip sat in the desk chair they hashed out everything they had noticed while pip typed an update up on her computer.
"So to have the knife that means he had to go home to pick it up." Mari murmurs allowed
"But why was he scared?"
"And how does it work with Mr Reynolds's saying he didn't see him? The timing isn't right maybe we talk to maybe talk to nat again"
"She might be more honest ig her boyfriend isn't there"
"Right and speaking of nat. Daniel was definitely talking to Layla. So does he know something"
"He could or Hes just scared of it getting back to his wife and brand new baby." Pip suggest
"Oh! And you know what's weird! Everyone she's talked to is like 30 except for Jamie cause he lied but like that's weird right? And they have similar features you know? White with brown hair? I don't know it's just weird"
"Could be a coincidence bug I'll write it down just in case. And that brings us to the farmhouse. We gotta see who keeps going there and why. And hopefully we do on this stakeout."
Amaris groans "I fucking hate stakeouts" she flops back on her bed sighing "but Ravi will be there so atleast it's not just boring old you" she giggles when pip throws a earaser at her in retaliation. She stares at the roof the thinking about earlier.
"Oh no what did you do?" Pip asks turning around "you have a look"
"What look? I dont have a look!"
"Yes you do! What did you do?"
Amaris bites her lip "I accidentally told Ravi i want to marry him in the future"
"What?!?" Pip launches out of her chair and sits next to amaris on the bed "how do you accidentally do that?"
"The blue wallpaper. I said for *our* wedding I wanted your maid of honor dress to be that color and then I said that his suit would be a similar color or something and mh vail would be blue. I was rambling! And like I must have sounded crazy you know? Like talking about a wedding when I haven't even graduated!" She groans covering her face
"Well what did he say? Did he even hear you-"
"He acted like he didn't and then as he walked away he said. 'You'd look beautiful with a blue veil' then he ran off so I couldn't say anything!" She squeals face red
Pip laughs "so your like unofficially hitched?"
"No!" Amaris squeals squirming when pip started tickling her
"Oh you so are!" Pip laughs falling ontop of her sister side ways "I want executive desicions on your dress"
"Im not getting married right now!"
"But you might be soon!

My brother is sick rn probably strep or something but whenever he's sick it's so blatantly obvious that she loves him more. Bcs apparently he can't walk HIS dog cause he's sick but when I'm sick I can clean my cats litter and sweep the whole bathroom where the litter is. Also she said some shit like when he's an adult and he's sick and yoh dont live with him anymore you better run over there to help him. Like fuck offffffff.
