Ravi had made it to the car first unlocking it and jumping into the passenger side after opening the door to the backseat begin him. Pip slid into the drivers seat and amaris Conner and Cara jumped into the back through the open door and pip took of
"What did you see?" Ravi asked pip before looking at Mari behind him "seatbelt" he reminds nudging her leg
"Nothing." Pip answers "but he must have spotted me in the doorway. And now he's running."
"Why would he run?" Conner asks from begin pip gripping her head rest as pip sped up down the road
"Don't know. But running is something that guilty people do. Are those his tail lights?" Pip squinted trying to see
"Yea, God he's going fast, you need to speed up." Ravi says leaning forward
Pip glanced at the speedometer "Im already going 70" she said speeding up a bit
"Left, he turned left there." Ravi pointed and pip swung the car around the corner.
"Go, go, go," Conner urges
They were close enough to see the outline of his car, the white body clear in their eyes "need to get close enough to read his number plate," pip said and amaris cursed
"Shoulda worn my fucking glasses!" Amaris sighs "I can't see shit Cara you take over" amaris pulled her head from inbetween the front seats so Cara could replace her,
"He's speeding up again," cara informed and pip sped up her speedometer going over 80 and up
"Right! He went right." Ravi exclaims and pip turns sharply. Too sharp they flew around the corner and began skidding sliding left and right as screams were let out by most of them amaris reaching to grip whatever she could the world outside a blur, she was crying by the time the car came to a stop facing the wrong way.
Amaris immediately opened her door and climbed out "I need a minute" she mumbles closing the door behind her as she sat behind the car leaning against it
Inside the car pip curses and slams her fist against the horn "Is everyone OK?"
"Yeah," Conner answered "but what about Mari-"
"I'll check on her in a second" Ravi cuts him off looking at his side mirror to see her
"That was stupid, I'm sorry." Pip sighs also checking her mirror to see Mari
"It's my fault. I told you to go faster. I'm sorry." Ravi muttered squeezing her shoulder reassuringly
"Did anyone see the number plate?" Conner asked
"All I saw was the first letter and it was either an N or an H." Pip says
"Didn't see,' Cara said "but it was a sports car. A white sports car."
"A BMW," ravi added and pip tensed up "what?'
"I. . . I know someone with that car," pip whispers
"Well, yeah, so do I, More than one someone probably." Ravi shrugs
"Yeah, but the one I know is Nat da Silva's new boyfriend." Pip sighs out and silence falls over the group and it's only broken by Ravi stepping out of the car a few minutes later and making his way to mari just sitting beside her as she stares at the sky.
"Well that something right?" He murmurs nudging her
"I- we could have crashed and- and max hasting and Cara and Sal- we could have done what they did-"
"I know baby" he wraps his arms around her pulling her closer "I know but we wouldn't have done that- we-we wouldn't have-"
"We couldve!" Amaris pushes at his chest, feeble attempts as tear well up again and she pushes against him until she collapses "it's happening again Ravi. W-when we did the case last year, sals case p-pip got lost in it- I- I- I did too but she almost died! And just now she got lost again and again i was right there with her. Ravi I can't keep doing this. After we find jamie- after I graduate I want to leave Fairview" she looks up at him.
"We can get a small apartment in some other town, somewhere brothers dont get killed and framed for murder somewhere somewhere teachers dont-dont-" she cuts off flinching again at ghe thought of Elliot ward and what he did "somewhere brothers dont go missing. Somewhere normal. Please."
"What are you saying Mari? What about our plan?" He cups her face brushing tears away
"It'll still work we can still- we'll find a way but I can't be in Fairview anymore Ravi i just can't" she whispers leaning into him and laying there as she tries not to start crying again.
