amaris nervously picked at the skin around her nails as she waited for someone to open the singhs door, sure she couldve just used her key but she figured that it would be disrespectful to just waltz in when everyone was already home from work.
"mari?" nisha asks as she opens the door, "didn't ravi give you a key?"
"hi, um yea he did," she nods holding up her keychain that only held two keys, one was a simple silver key and the other was painted pink and had small red hearts all around it. "I just- I didn't want to be disrespectful."
"don't be silly, he gave you a key for a reason; you're always welcome here." nisha said stepping backwards so amaris could walk in.
"is ravi here?"
"mhm, he's just upstairs."
"thank you." amaris mumbles before walking up the stairs and to ravis room. she knocks lightly on the door using his signature knock, he smiles as soon as he hears it.
"you can come in." he calls out softly.
amaris walked in, her eye flitting over the room, "hello, moon."
"hey," she mumbles walking over to were he was lounging on the bed, his laptop in his lap, "watcha ya watching?"
"arlo and I are watching octonauts, we were both missing peso." ravi jokes
amaris gasps, "I shouldve brought him, the whole family would've been here."
ravi hums, moving the laptop and lifting up the comforter inviting amaris in. she smiles and moves to sit in between his legs, leaning her back against his chest, ravis arms wrap around her almost immediately, before pressing play on whatever movie he actually had on. amaris wasn't paying attention to the movie instead she let her mind reel as she fiddled with the hairtye of hers ravi had in his wrist.
"what's on your mind, love?" ravi asks softly, his voice comforting.
amaris turns her body to face him before telling him everything that happened earlier that day, it was relieving to her to let the some weight fall off her shoulders, to just talk and have someone just listen.
"and you're afraid to investigate this because last time pip almost died and barney did die?" ravi asks and she nods.
"but I know we're going to investigate it because I know pip, i don't know what to do ravi. if I don't help her then she could be in even more danger but im- im scared."
"I can't tell you what to do, maris, but I'll be here for you, no matter what you decide."
"promise?"
"promise." Ravi interlocks their pinkies. I love you
amaris smiled before cuddling into his chest, her ear pressed against it so she could listen to his heart, the steady beat calmed her and the weight falls off her shoulders. everything would be okay because she had ravi, she'd be okay, pip would be okay, jamie would be okay, and conner wouldn't lose his brother because amaris and pip would fine him.
