When I woke up the next morning, the night prior came flooding back to me.
Dancing with Katie.
Being that close to Katie.
How good it felt.
For the rest of the night, I only interacted with Katie in a group setting, not by ourselves.
I also wondered who from work noticed how close Katie and I had gotten. If they did, they didn't say anything at the club.
We got carried away. That's all.
At the end of the night, when we were all walking out of the club, Brandon caught up with me.
"Yo, Cam," he said, "I wanted to apologize for constantly insinuating that you and Dev were hooking up. Now that I know he's gay, I feel kinda bad."
I looked at Brandon, "How were you supposed to know he's gay? I wasn't going to out him, and it was only natural to guess that. Don't feel bad."
Brandon grinned at me, "Alright, cool. Thanks."
I grinned back and said, "I wasn't expecting to see you dancing like that with Ivy."
Brandon shrugged, "Eh, I figured why not? She's a lot less annoying when she's dancing."
"Do you think something will happen between the two of you?"
"No way," Brandon said, and then he glanced at me, "Don't think I didn't notice how close you and Katie were dancing with each other."
I felt my face heat up, "We were just having fun. Nothing else to it."
"Gotcha," Brandon said, though I could tell that he didn't believe me.
I didn't believe myself.
Right before Devin, Callum, and I walked to the parking lot where Devin's car was, and we were saying "bye" to everyone, Katie and I looked at each other.
"When do you work next?" Katie asked me.
"Monday, you?"
"I'll see you then," Katie said, and then she pulled me into a quick hug. It only lasted a moment, but I could feel her heart pounding against mine.
"See you, Katie. Get home safe."
"You too, Cameron."
All day on Sunday, I tried to get the feeling of Katie's hands on my hips out of my head. The tried to forget her breath tingling the back of my neck as I pressed my body into hers. I tried to stop thinking about how close my lips were to hers.
But I couldn't.
She's dating your ex-boyfriend for God's sake. Stop it.
How close I was to Katie last night was also the closest I've been to a girl sexually in years. The last time I had sex with a girl was back in college, around 6 months before I met Tristan. Her name was Kelly, she lived on campus, and we were in a mutual study group.
I only had sex with her a couple of times. When it came to women, I wasn't as experienced as I was with men. I had some experience, but only with three women.
The first was my good friend from high school, Joanna Smith. We were both very curious and knew we were attracted to girls, and we hooked up at least 10 times. We would have sleepovers in high school, and while our parents were asleep, we would be hooking up.
The second was right after I broke up with my boyfriend, Ryan, that I had when I was 18 for 9 months, and I found a girl on Tinder named Maya and we had sex a couple of times.
