I hadn't told Devin yet about how Katie and I slept in the same bed together during our beach trip, however, I knew I had to.

Devin and I share practically everything with each other, and I wanted to tell him this.

The next day, the day after Katie's birthday, I worked as well. I knew that she wouldn't be working, but Devin would be with me.

Devin asked me if I wanted to grab lunch with him before our shift, and I was happy to.

We decided to meet up at Mill Street Cantina for some tacos and a margarita.

"The last fucking thing I want to do tonight is work and deal with people," Devin groaned, sitting across from me at the booth we were seated at, "Can we both just call out?"

"I wish," I said back to him, "Working is the last thing I want to do right now as well."

"How was it last night?" Devin asked me.

"It was busy," I said to him, "Annoyingly busy. I did well in tips, though."

"At least it paid off."

I paused before I said, "I wanted to tell you something."

Devin looked at me, "What is it, Cam?"

"At Brandon's beach house, Ivy had snuck out of her and Katie's room to go sleep with Jayden," I started.

"I figured as much."

"Katie asked me to come down to her room."

Devin's eyes widened, "Oh?"

"We didn't do anything, we just talked for a while. However, we did fall asleep...with her arm around me."

Devin raised his dark eyebrows, "That's interesting."

"Ivy walked in the next morning, and even though we reassured her nothing happened, I'm not sure if she believed it. She told Tristan about it as well, and Tristan got angry at Katie."

Devin let out a deep breath, "Oh jeez. This is a situation."

"There's even more."

"Do tell," Devin nodded.

"Last night at work, by the lockers...I swear Katie and I were about to kiss," I said, my face heating up thinking about how she was hovering over me by the lockers, her face inches away from mine.

"What stopped you?"

"Her table needed her."

Devin was silent for a moment, and he then said, "Cam, this hasn't gotten to the point where something needs to give. You and Katie have been flirting for months, and you both obviously want each other. I know that we are not team Tristan here...but I will say, don't you think this is somewhat unfair to him?"

"It is," I agreed, "It completely is. I hope it doesn't seem like I am trying to get him back or something."

"Cam, you're not that kind of person. I know you're not."

"It's honestly driving me nuts, and you're right. Something does need to give. This can't keep happening with Katie being in a relationship. I'm going to have to actually stop it this time."

"It's the right thing to do, even though I know it's not easy," Devin said and dipped a tortilla chip in pico de gallo.

"It's not easy at all. It's like Katie has me under a spell. She's just so...god, I don't even know. She's a dream girl, honestly."

"Cam, this is also pretty unfair to you," Devin pointed out.

"What do you mean?"

"Katie has been flirting with you. Of course, you've been doing it back. But you're not the one in a relationship, you can do that technically. She shouldn't be. Especially if she's not going to break up with Tristan."
