As September approached, I realized something- I hadn't been to the beach all summer long. The Jersey Shore is about an hour and a half away from where I live, and I would often frequent there in the summer.

It felt like all I did this summer was work.

I guess that's being an adult, right?

A couple of days before Labor Day Weekend, I was talking to Devin at work and mentioned how I had missed going to the beach this summer.

"We can always go for a day trip this weekend," Devin said to me, "I know that the beach will be crowded, but you deserve to go at least once."

"Go where?"

Devin and I turned to see Brandon coming up behind us.

"I haven't been to the beach all summer," I said to Brandon.

"Oh. Come down to my beach house," Brandon said casually.

I stared at Brandon, "I didn't know you had a beach house."

"My parents just closed on it," Brandon said, "Not the best timing, considering summer is almost over. All this summer they rented a house down at the beach."

"Why did I not hear of you going to it?" Devin asked Brandon.

"Because I work all the fucking time," Brandon said, "It's not worth the drive if I have to come back up the next day. But I requested off Labor Day Weekend. Come to the beach house for a night, want me to ask the others if they want to come too?"

"Sure," I said, "That would be fun."

We settled on going to the beach house on Friday, the start of Labor Day Weekend. Some of my co-workers that Brandon asked to come with were already working, but others weren't. It was going to be me, Brandon, Devin, Callum, Leah, Katie, Ivy, and my other co-worker, Jayden, at the beach house in Ocean City.

It turned out, Timmy was also going to be in Ocean City for the weekend with some of his friends.

"We should try to meet up at the beach," he said to me, "I can actually meet some of your friends."

We all agreed to meet down at Brandon's beach house at noon that Friday. I was going to be driving down with Devin and Callum.

I brought one overnight bag with me, and in it, I did pack a bikini, just in case I wanted to wear it on the beach.

As Devin drove us, he said loudly over the rock music he was blasting, "I looked up Brandon's beach house on Zillow. It's fucking insane, so nice."

"How much did it sell for?" Callum asked him.

"2 million," Devin said, "I can't imagine having that kind of money."

Devin was right about the beach house. I couldn't help but to admire how beautiful it was as we pulled up. The house wasn't right on the coastline, but it was only a couple of minutes away from the beach.

The house was modern and extremely tall, as it was four stories. There was a balcony off the second floor, already furnished lavishly.

Brandon opened the door for us, and said, "Welcome guys, come on in."

We walked into an expansive, open-spaced room. There was a living area that led to a kitchen, and then a dining room. Just like the outside, the inside of the home was ultra-modern, with a mostly white interior and splashes of color in the furniture and paintings on the walls.

Leah and Jayden were already there, standing by the granite island in the kitchen. Leah already had on a bikini top and a pair of very short shorts. They both greeted us enthusiastically.
