Part 34

Halloween landed on a Tuesday, so Brandon told everyone that he was going to throw a party that Saturday beforehand.

"My parents are in Italy, so it's an open house," he said at work a couple of days before, "Anyone can come."

"Is Daniel going to come?" Leah asked Brandon.

Brandon looked at Leah, "Possibly. Why?

"We've had a bit of a vibe going lately...I'm wondering if something could happen there," Leah said.

Brandon rolled his dark eyes, "Yeah, you and like five other girls who work here."

"I don't want a relationship, Bran," Leah said, "Maybe just a hookup."

"I'd say it's weird, but he is only 2 years older than you, even if he is our manager," Kylie, who was standing with us, said.

"I find it pretty fucking weird for a manager to hit on their employees no matter what age," Brandon said, "But that's just me."

"It's not just you," Katie said to Brandon.

When everyone else walked away, Katie looked at me and said, "What should we be for Halloween? I figured we could go to Brandon's party together."

"Of course," I said to Katie, "I'd love that. I thought maybe you and Ivy would want to dress up together?"

"She'll just be the same thing she is every year, a sexy nurse," Katie said, "Plus, I'd much rather dress up with you."

"Well, what should we be?" I asked Katie, inching up closer to her.

"I have an idea," Katie said, a twinkle in her eye, "It's a bit cliche, and you might think it's dumb, but I was thinking I could be a devil and you could be angel."

"Seems fitting for us," I said to Katie, "I like that idea, and I have a white dress. All I need are some angel wings and a halo."

"And I happen to have a tight, little red dress somewhere in my closet," Katie grinned, "I just need some devil ears. We could easily find them at a party store."

I looked up the party store quickly on my phone and said to Katie, "I should be cut in the next hour and the party store closes at 10. I'll stop there after work."

I was able to stop at the party store and find devil ears, angel wings, and a headband with a gold halo attached.

On Saturday night, Katie and I decided to get ready at her house, and Ivy was going to join us.

"Are you sure you don't mind that Ivy will be getting ready with us?" Katie asked me on the phone as I drove to her house.

"She's your best friend. I would never stop that," I said to Katie.

Even though I'm not her biggest fan at times...

When I got to Katie's, Ivy was already there, and I joined the two of them in Katie's room.

Ivy wore a tight, white dress that showed an ungodly amount of cleavage with a red Emergency cross on it. She had a stethoscope looped around her neck.

"Where did you find a stethoscope?" I asked Ivy.

"My younger brother is in nursing school," Ivy said, "Look at you in your little white dress, Cameron. Super cute."

"Thanks," I said to Ivy, "You look good too."

I then turned to Katie, who was putting on red devil makeup.

"Your makeup is looking perfect."

Katie looked up at me and smiled. She had on the red devil ears and tight, short, strapless red dress. I had noticed that since summer ended, Katie's self-tan was lighter, and the red dress looked amazing against her lighter skin tone.
