SIDDHARTH'S POV
A delicious cake, paired with an even more heartfelt wish, the warmest hug, wishing on the well my magic considered magical... right at my birth time because she affirmed that the words out of my mouth in that minute would go straight to the almighty itself.
As if all of this wasn't enough to render the night mesmerizing and heavenly, She still had more stored for tonight. More of her..more of us, together.
Myra dragged me to the unknown, in an urgency I couldn't guess, while I just strolled behind her, with my eyes sheltered by her silk yet again.
Birthday perks it seems...
I always ran far from such perks, calling them superfluous. What great deed had I done by being born anyways?
It wasn't even in my hands.
But, this hadn't been my notion from the start; of course I too once was a kid excited about birthday cakes and colourful balloons...until one night I tasted blood instead of the chocolate cream and...
Man..did it gush me inside out cruelly!
Yet, as if miracles were meant to kiss her feet at all times. All my locked parts came alive and somehow, unknowingly, Myra always held the keys.
The ground beneath my feet felt hard and cold, like concrete. Myra had carefully guided me through at least three different gates, yet we hadn't reached her desired site.
With each step, my heart raced faster than before. The pulse on my wrist seemed tempted to discover its highest possible speed under her hold.
Every brush of her hand touched my skin like flames of a fire, the exact kind which iron needs to melt and take the form of an enchanting art.
"Wait," Myra halted me by her palm to my chest, right above my heart and suddenly the racing organ forgot to move for a second; and so did his friend, my lungs.
I could feel her stepping away. Now that she released my pause button, seethingly hot blood thumped against my ears and nape.
With our fingers interlocked, arms raised in the middle of the air, she guided me as I took a small step forward. "You have to climb three steps down now."
I barely nodded before descending myself along her. Steady and safe, even with my eyesight gone, as long as her fingers were wrapped around mine.
"Pearl," I suddenly stopped and tightened my hold on her hand, forbidding her from taking the next step. I knew her breath hitched, she too wasn't completely relaxed.
Her pulse kept flickering as my thumb lazily grazed over her wrist. A thin white silk wasn't enough for me, I could still imagine even the tiniest bit of her expressions like one remembers their favourite quotes from their favourite book.
A little crease formed between her eyebrows, blinking slowed down as I took a step forward in her direction. "Aab wait nahi ho raha, yeh parda kab hataogi meri ankho se?"
(My patience is running low, when will you remove this cloth from my eyes?)
No surprise could ever compensate for the loss of minutes I didn't get to see her, especially on my birthday; if that's supposed to be a better day than others.
Myra's lips scrunched up, as she tried to spare me the eye roll considering today's occasion. I knew it all by heart without trying.
Heck at this point, I could even trace the pattern of her breathing like patterns on a leaf! The realisation sounded terrifyingly admirable.
