SIDDHARTH'S POV:
"You look absolutely gorgeous." I murmured against her skin, letting my lips write those words on her cheek.
It took everything in me but I did pull away, in one go..almost in a rush because slowly parting from her wasn't an option for me.
My heart raced, blood drummed behind my ears, lips quivered after they touched the sacred, something beyond what they would ever deserve.
So, with a fire still pulsating beneath my skin, I walked out of the room without looking back because staying for a moment longer was a gamble I couldn't afford to play.
Not when I was balancing on a fine rope, trying my way up to the next step of the stairs with a glass like hope on my head.
MYRA'S POV
Are you calling me your habit or dangerous?
Both.
I bit my tongue, as the moment replayed in my mind for the third time in a row. My heels still stuck to the floor, the same exact place and position he left me in; as if a part of me walked out along with him.
Finally losing my grip on the wooden table, I was leaning on; I let out a wavering sigh from my lips.
Turning around on my heels, I faced the mirror. It was right in front of me but I couldn't get my eyes to look at my own reflection.
Maybe because, at that moment the mirror held more than just my own self's reflection or maybe I wasn't yet ready to witness the heat of my heart which painted my cheeks.
"Get a hold on yourself Myra."
The tiny motivation to the self helped a little and I finally, though gradually, raised my eyes till I stood face to face with my disheveled self; though this time the mess wasn't of my hair but of my heart.
I did look composed on the outside except for the little heavy breathes and too evident rosiness on my face.
The beauty blush kept in front of me had its transparent lid open, a brush laid beside it eager to do its job but unfortunately today wasn't their day.
Closing the box, I placed it back in the drawer. Raising my hand, I let my fingertips burn a little from the heat spilled over my skin.
I was still in my dreamland, where every wall looked red, the sky rained roses and flying was the new walking; when a knock followed by clicks of heel pulled me back to reality but even in here, the redness surprisingly stayed.
Will it ever even go away?
More important, do I want it to?
Maybe, no.
"Bhabhi.." [Sister-in-law]
Poonam.
"H-haa..Poonam." I turned to my side, the rosy hue on my cheeks caused a flicker in my smile.
[Y-yes, Poonam.]
She was beaming, brighter than the light itself.
A straight silk gown, snatched around the waist, two strips for the sleeves with cute little knotes and a little sunflower pendant; made her look like an iconic European actress from the 90s.
"What's with the long face?" I couldn't help the question once she stood in front of me with a tiny pout, the curves of her brows turned down.
"I can't find my blush." Her pout deepened, a little something bittersweet tugged on my heart. I saw Sanvi instead of Poonam in front of me at that moment.
