"Don't go inside the farm, Leo" Grandma is shouting at a distance. Leo is such a smart kid but he loves playing pranks with his very old grandmother. She always tries to protect the kid from all the neighbors, school teachers, and other parents. He is very naughty. He roams around every day and finds some problems to keep him entertained. "Not today, kid. Don't make me run behind you."
He is running into the biggest bitter gourd farm in his village. "Don't run, Grandma. I am not going anywhere." He was looking inside the vineyard. He loved playing there as a child but the security increased as there were many thieves. "Don't walk. Wait, Let me come" She catches up to him.
"Why do you not listen to me? I am screaming with my whole strong voice. You are becoming very naughty these days, Leo. I am going to send you back to your mother" She grabs his arm and walks away from that place. "Why are you roaming around the village, every day? I am tired of you"
"Please don't say that, Old lady"
"Yeah, I am an old lady. Do you even know that? My joints are so weak. I am visiting the hospital every day. You are here. Every day trying to find a problem."
Leo became so sad. His grandmother might scold him then and there but she always loved his naughtiness. It keeps her life very lively and interesting. Whenever he makes a mistake, she gets to walk around, find him, talk to him about it, advise him, and take responsibility for him. She loves that chore.
"I am sorry, Grandma. I won't do this hereafter. Please don't run anywhere."
"It is fine. Don't worry. Just don't bring me any trouble."
"Sure, Grandma" He never accepts anything like that. He always talks back to her. She was concerned that she scolded the child inside him which made her happy. So she decided to take him to a shop. He noticed her walking on a different street. "Where are we going?"
"Come with me" Here take this. She pays for some candy and hands it over to him. He grabs it with his hand and starts to run around the street. "Be careful"
"Okay, grandma" She smiles at him. "Don't worry, Grandma. I will be a good boy from today"
"Why? Suddenly you got the wisdom from our god."
"No, I just thought I shouldn't make you run behind me all the time"
"Oh, why is it so?"
"Because I went to the vineyard for you"
"Huh?"
"I overheard the doctor saying you should eat a lot of bitter gourd. Since I was a child, I used to play in that vineyard. I thought I could get some bitter gourd for you today. I should take care of you well" Grandma stopped on the road and hugged him tight. She never thought he would grow up to be a thoughtful person.
"Thank you, Leo"
"It is okay, Grandma. Tomorrow, I will go there and bring some bitter gourd"
"We should not steal anyway. We should bring some money and buy the bitter gourd"
"But, but..."
"Huh?"
"But, I am not earning yet. I have to grow this big to earn money"
Grandma saw him jump up and down. She laughed heartily after such a long time looking at the young child looking after her. The soon-to-be bitter gourd thief looked at her with so much love.
