Love in simple things

Love is loyal

"Who do you think you are?"

"Haha, what?"

"I asked who do you think you are"

"Eric. Why?"

"Why did you cheat on me?"

"Who told you that?"

"Everyone on the campus knows about it"

"Can we talk in private?"

"Everything is already public. What is there in private?"

"We can sit and discuss it"

"There is nothing to discuss"

"But I want you to know what happened."

"Don't give the cliche answers, Eric. I already know what happened. It was exactly what must have happened. I trust the remaining people compared to you. Because I was doubtful already."

"What are you saying? How could you blame me for anything without proof?"

"Oh, yeah. Proof"

"Do you have a proof?"

"There are like thousands of people vouching for the incident."

"But, where is the proof?"

"What will you do with the proof?"

"Nothing. I just want to see it. I don't believe all these people. I have no idea why you believe them. I mean."

She showed the proof and he was standing there still. The picture broker her heart into millions already. She is holding it against him to prove that her words were true. He was just standing there.

"This is fake. I don't believe this. Someone must have faked this picture. We have to find them"

"We? There is no "we" anymore. It is just "you". This is not the single picture. Two more people have taken different pictures."

"See, there are no thousand pictures. There are only three. Someone must have circulated it. I swear these people are jealous of my popularity."

"Popularity? What popularity? I could see these people look at you with absolute disgust from day one. I met you as a good human being who loves everyone. They could see past the filter. I was dumb."

"Please, listen to me."

"Listen to what? Listen to how you had the time to cheat on me. Listen to the incident. Listen to what, Eric?"

"Oh, shut up. You don't act like you trust these people. I have seen you alone all the time. Where did these honest people go by then?"

"I chose to be alone. I chose to be with you and feel alone. How dumb exactly are you?"

"What?"

"I have to repeat everything twice, right?"

"No. Not like that. Just have some faith in me and see how it goes from now on."

"From now on. What does that mean? You mean you want me to accept the cheater you are."

"No, I didn't mean that. Let us assume that these photos are fake."

"But, they are not fake. They are real. Taken by real people."

"Okay, what do you want me to do?"

"Open up."

"About what?"

"About the truth."

"Alright. That was just a casual..."

She laughed at the cliche response again. She can't believe her eyes. Every day she saw a lot of people break up because of this and now that she could see it by herself. She walked away after that argument.

On her way, tears running down her eyes, all she missed was love. But Love needs loyalty.
