"You don't have to wait for me." Kenny didn't mean these words. In fact, Aabi didn't expect it either. She was just standing there listening to him.

"What do you want me to say?"

"I am nearly 32. You are 28. You always wanted to be married by this age."

"I did. For a long time, I used to say that I wanted to be married."

"What changed now?" She was silent. They were sitting in a park. It didn't feel weird. There was so much anxiety in the air. Ken was anxious. Aabi was breathing in the cool breeze. She didn't answer for another minute. Anxious Ken started to walk away from the bench.

"Wait"

"I am not going anywhere. I will stand over there. You can think about it"

"I thought about it already. Come here"

"Yes" He just waddled his way near her. In another two weeks, Ken is going to another continent for his higher studies. He always wanted to get a Master's degree. He has the money, resources, and an opportunity now. He was working in his father's hardware store and spent his time helping his family. Now, it was time to leave for the degree.

"Did you think about me when you decided to take this degree?"

"I did. But the reality is different. I am unable to give any commitments for the next two years. If I do this master's program, I will at least get a white-collar job. My brother will take care of the store with my father."

"Where am I in this plan?"

"Yeah. Let me come to that point. If I could get a white-collar job, I could move out of the house. Now that I think about it, I will be 34, you will be 30 when this all ends. I don't want to make decisions for myself by making you wait. I really feel guilty."

"So, why didn't you ask me before applying for that program?" She didn't seem to be angry. She was very calm. She didn't speak to him for more than ten days. They are talking after a while. Ken knew that he messed up. He wanted to talk to her to fix things between them.

"I was blind. I just thought about how it would improve the quality of life. I never got any opportunity to study because I didn't have any money. I saved up some money recently. I am investing right now. So..."

"I understand. I am not angry. I am just asking you to consider discussing things with me before making major decisions."

"Sure. I will. So, you are not mad at me."

"I am angry. I just felt bad because you decided this on your own"

"I am sorry. I just thought you wouldn't want to wait till that"

"So, you are asking me to wait."

"No." He couldn't decide and choose. He badly wanted to take the opportunity and not leave her. It didn't seem fair. He was ready to tell her that he was in a dilemma. "I am unsure about your decisions now. I decided to change my life's plan and I didn't discuss ahead. I know we both love each other. In my heart, it doesn't seem fair. I don't want to make you wait when you don't want to wait"

"Who said I don't want to wait?"

"You didn't. I assumed. Your life goals have always been clear about having a partner and getting married before thirty with a baby. At this rate, I wouldn't be able to go by that plan"

"It is okay. We will figure it out" Ken was shocked to hear that. He genuinely thought that the breakup was going to be bad. It would definitely break him down. He assumed that his decision to uplift one part of his life would definitely sacrifice the other beautiful part.

"What do you mean by that?"

"Yes, my plans get disrupted. But I want to be able to support you in your decisions. My anger is only about not being able to make that decision along with you. My anger is not about the life's plan. It is unfair but we have to do it for the sake of us." He smiled at her. "You can happily go and get your degree. I will wait for you"

Ken couldn't believe his eyes. He admired her a little more than yesterday. Love is patient. The life knows to slow down.
