"Hello"

"Mom, I passed the Exam"

"Oh my god. I am so happy for you. You are such an achiever. I really had faith in you. You are amazing, sweetie."

"Thank you, mom. Is Smith there?"

"No. He has gone to a party. I will inform him. Oh my god. I am so happy for you. After years of struggle, you finally got this. You are going to be an amazing lawyer."

"There is still a long way to go, mom. I am so happy too. I will come home by this weekend."

I stepped out of the phone booth. Finally breathing the fresh air, I have been preparing for this exam for a long time. I skipped out on so many parties, and hangouts, and stopped entertaining my boredom with social media scrolling and so many movies. It was unhealthy. I didn't even take a break. I needed a break. My ambition was so big. I couldn't sleep because of it. 

I walked out of the booth and saw him walking towards me. 

"Hey, sweetheart."

"Hey." He is the reason behind my smiles and my survival kit. That is my boyfriend. I divorced my ex-husband two years ago. I was in a very unhappy marriage. I couldn't tolerate that anymore so I walked out of it myself. After struggling to become close with another person for a long time, I finally found this gentleman. He is a lawyer too. How hilarious it is. 

"So, how is my lawyer feeling today?"

"I am so happy. I just called mom."

"We should go get you a mobile phone"

"Of course. Come we could go to a nearby store."

"Pleasure. After you." I held his arms. Safer by his side always. "When are you going to see your family?"

"Mostly, this weekend."

"I am so happy and proud of you."

"I know. You told me a million times."

"It is just not enough."

"When do I get to treat you?"

"Tonight? We could go on a fancy dinner."

"Of course. I will make a reservation."

"Thank you, ma'am."

"How do you feel about it?"

"About your achievement?"

"Yes"

"I have never seen a determined person like you ever. You are my inspiration."

"Aww."

We walked into a store. Our normal day-to-day life sounds very boring. We had a strict schedule throughout my exam time. He made me food and took care of me so I could prepare well while working a full-time job. In my last marriage, I was frustrated because I couldn't pursue my dreams. I wanted to be a lawyer but my husband wanted a housewife. I was sad about that. Initially, I settled a lot because I loved that person. I gave up on my ambition to be a housewife. I struggled a lot to explain him. Now, I get homework from my boyfriend. 

I am in a very calm phase of my life. As I walked into our house after a big day, he brought over a small cake. 

"Oh my god. A bento box cake. I love that. Where did you get one?"

"Shh."

"Okay. Shh."

"Today, it is a very big day. You worked so hard. You got the best result possible. You passed your exam. Congratulations, Big Lady. You are going to be amazing."

"Thank you."

He sat near me and held my feet over his lap. He saw me stuff the cake and made some silly joke. I was admiring him so I forgot the joke. Love and ambition are on point here.
