Alhaitham:

He was sitting at his desk holding his head in one hand, while writing with his other. The Akademiya had finally hounded him for a research paper that he was late on because he got caught up with everything. Kaveh had needed help with some of his own work and even while Alhaitham told him he'd never help, he caved in anyway.

Plus, Alhaitham is never late on anything with his work, but this particular week had him booked up to the brim. Just like any other person he got tired, and more often than not he'd fall asleep doing the damn paper.

He put down the quill and flexed his fingers to give them a rest. At the same time is when there were a few quiet taps on his door. It wasn't Kaveh, because if it was, he would've already barged in by now. So really there was only one other option. "Yes?"

You opened the door slowly and poked your head around the other side. A smile graced your face when you met eyes with him. "I'm not disturbing you, am I?"

He shook his head slowly. "No. I'm taking a few seconds to breathe."

"Still working? You've been at it all morning, I told you that you should take way more than a few seconds to rest." You frowned.

"I'm almost done anyway." That much was a lie, but he didn't want to stress you out over his lack of breaks. "Did you need something though?"

"Oh right, no, I didn't need anything. But I wanted to see you before I headed out." You pushed his door open wider and stepped inside his study. When you did, Alhaitham's features shifted into confusion.

Alhaitham was always very impressed by your style and how you wore your personality on your sleeve. Of course he knew that you could dress. But...why were you dressed so...alluringly? His eyes flickered back up to your face just as you moved out of his view.

Now you stood behind him, and rested your chin on his head with your arms draped over his shoulders. "Where are you going?" He asked.

"I told you earlier. Actually, you got an invitation too before you declined it." You sighed. "Cyno, Tighnari and Dehya wanted to get together for lunch. You and Kaveh were too busy, so I'm the only one from the house going."

Right, that did happen. It was Dehya that reached out to the three of you, and only one decided to accept that invitation.

"That's today?" Alhaitham's hands ran up and down your arms. "Guess I lost track of time."

"Mhm, that's why I said to rest yourself." You bent your head down and kissed him on the cheek. "Okay, I don't want to be late, so I'll see you later."

"Wait." Alhaitham turned his body just before you got too far away. "Where are you guys going to eat?"

"Lambad's Tavern." You answered.

He raised a brow. "And... you got all dressed up for that place?"

"Alhaitham." You said his name sternly before he got too high into his head with his antics. "It's lunch with friends, I wanted to look nice."

"You could've looked nice in anything."
