Ch 62 - Safe

KRITIKA POV

I opened my eyes but couldn't see anything clearly. I felt a slight pain in my stomach and I tried to call out to Roopa, asking her to help me. But then I realized that Aryavir was with me, holding my hand.

I could tell from the firm grip of his hand that he was arya. But my vision was still blurry, and I couldn't open my eyes completely to see his face. But knowing that arya was with me, I felt a little calmer.

arya -" I murmured but he didn't listen as he was sleeping"

I tried to move my hands gently so he can feel the movement.
But my efforts were in vain and he remained motionless, likely still asleep. He couldn't hear my voice or feel my presence. I called out to him once again, hoping he would respond.

arya -" I said in slow voice"

I felt a slight movement in response to my voice and it seemed as though he was about to wake up. He lifted his head slightly and looked towards me, and I was staring at him intently. Suddenly, he started asking me a question.

Are you fine kritika -" he said looking tensed and shocked"

Even as he looked at me, it seemed as though he wasn't fully awake yet. But despite that, he still worried about me, and even as he was waking up, the first thing he asked was about me.

I'm fine -" I said in faint voice"

That's better -" he said and kissed my forehead"

And what about baby? -" I asked him"

If you are fine then our little one is fine too -" he said and I smiled"

I'm so proud of you, Kritika, for single-handedly defeating him and protecting our palace.Your actions have saved the lives of many women in the palace. You truly deserve to be the queen of this palace, and the monarch of this kingdom. -" arya said and I feel proud"

And what about those women?? -" I asked him"

There’s no need to worry about the women, I’ve brought them back to the palace and they’re all safe and happy because you protected their lives. Rupa completely fine, so you don’t need to worry about herself either. Just take care of yourself and our child. -" he said and I smiled"

Wait, I'll go get a doctor because your check-up is important. -" arya said and leaved"

After that, arya quickly called for a doctor and left the room. The doctor checked up on me, and there were several maids surrounding me. After examining me for a while, the doctor told me that there was no need for me to worry about both myself and the child. We were both very healthy, but I should start paying more attention to my health from now on.

Hearring that, I felt an odd sense of happiness knowing that my child was secure. I myself was safe, and Arya was with me. Now, we could live like a family, together.

The doctor talked to me about many things related to medicine and what to eat and drink that would be good for both my health and the health of my child. Listening to all this made me very happy because it was the first time I was going to become a mother, going to give birth to a child.

Despite my happiness, there was a lingering sense of fear. Would I be safe? Would I have access to all the necessary things to ensure the safety of both myself and my baby? Another fear that crossed my mind was the pain. Could I endure the pain that was to come in the future? -" I was in thoughts then somebody came running in my room"

I turn my gaze towards rupa, who is seated near my feet and sobbing. She says that she is very happy that I am absolutely safe and healthy, and that she will not leave my side no matter where I go. She adds that she will not obey any orders from me from now on.

Come here -" I said and she stood up"

Sit on the bed or chair -" I said and she sit beside me"

My lady, I was so scared, how can you just order me like that? What if anything happened to you? -" she said looking concerned"

But loot at me I'm fine right now -" I said with smiled"

Yes I'm really thankful to you, my lady -" she said with tears rolling down her cheeks"

Don't cry rupa -" I said and wiped her tears"

Oh yes, The king said that he himself would go to check on your  medication and how it's being prepared. He wanted to see who was making it. Therefore, there might be some delay in his arrival because many soldiers are currently injured, so the king won't be available for some time. From what I have seen, he and Vijayaa are working together. -" she said and I nodded"

He's a king and has the responsibility to take care of his people. Right now, the palace, the people who reside in it, and the people of this kingdom all need him. I'm perfectly safe in my room, resting comfortably, but everyone needs him more right now. It's better for him to remain there. -" I said looking at her"

You need to rest my lady -" she said and I layed down again ignoring my pain"

As I opened my eyes in the middle of the night, I felt incredibly exhausted. I had barely managed to move up to a sitting position on the bed and make my way outside to glimpse what was happening in the palace.

I noticed it was already half past midnight and Aryavir was still diligently carrying out his duties, assisting many soldiers, offering them medication, helping them eat and drink. Seeing him at work filled me with immense pride, knowing that he was my husband.

There was a part of me that wanted to go out and help everyone as well, but I realized my current condition did not allow me to do so. I needed help more than I could provide it to others. Even so, I could at least watch him from afar.

His gaze met mine and he walked towards me. There was a tense look on his face, as if he was worried. When he reached me, he said -" Are you fine? Do you need anything?"

No, I was here to check on you -" I said and he smiled but didn't said anything"

Aise kyu dekh rahe hai hame?

Why are you looking at me like that ? -" I asked him"

Aap hi bata dijiye kaise dekhe ham aapko?

Then tell me how should I see you? -" he replied"

I didn't said anything but looked at his eyes.

Now you need to rest, kriti -" he said I nodded"

Then he held my hand and took me to the bed and made me sleep comfortably.

Now just sleep well, I need to go now -" he said, kissed my hands then leaved"

And that's how I went to sleep

(After 8 months)

Nine months had passed since I became pregnant, and I could give birth at any moment. I worried immensely about how I would cope with the pain when the time came. However, I knew that Ayurveda would always be with me.

A few days remained before I would become a mother, and there was a mix of both joy and fear within me. I wondered if I could handle the responsibility that lay ahead and if I could truly be a good mother. Could I take on the tasks of running the kingdom after everything that had happened?

I was deep in thought when a soldier announced that Aryavir was approaching. I returned to my bed and patiently waited at the door for his arrival.

As he enters the room, he immediately walks up to me and envelops me in a tight embrace. After a moment, he leans in to whisper something in my ear -" Just some days more"

I pull away from his embrace and gently say, "I know but after that i am just going to rest and will leave all the responsibility up to you."

Kuch aise chije hoti hai jo ham nahi kar sakte hai, aap samajh rahi hai na?

"Some things are beyond mine control, you understand that don't you?" -" he said while caressing my lips"
