Hoseok didn't waste one more second in waiting.
He sprinted out quicker than he could calculate.

...you shouldn't pray not to have it...

Hoseok hasn't been feeling too well lately. His usual hyper active and challenging aura seemed to be diminishing as the days in this mansion crawled by. It’s been three days now, and he’d been fortunate enough not to bump into Yoongi. This seemed easy since the day he'd began to notice the alluring scent of the alpha. A mixture of mint and a faint mix of pine wood was now so easy for Hoseok to detect. He could now tell wherever the alpha was if he was nearby.

That was another of Hoseok problem which he'd just discovered. He couldn't scent any other person besides Yoongi, not even himself, he never knew what he scented like, which was yet again another problem for the omega to worry about. What confused him the most was the sudden heat that pulled up in his entire body whenever he sensed that Yoongi was nearby. He always hated that feeling for it made him really uncomfortable, embarrassed for no explainable reason, and a little sick.

The other time he'd asked Taehyung indirectly why he always felt feverish occasionally, the beta had just smiled and told him he was in his pre heat phase.

Now Hoseok didn't know what that mean and that answer had only left him more confused and frustrated. He just wanted to be his old, normal self once again, why was all this happening to him.

He stayed in his room most of the time, hiding behind his piles of blankets whenever that uneasy feeling crawled back.

Mejin ensured to visit at least six times every day, and each time she came, she always had something for the omega to eat. Be it food, nutritious drink or fruit.

Just like any other day, mejin had walked in to see the omega staring at the marriage contract Yoongi had given him. He had read it over and over a billion zillion times, and was still afraid to sign it despite the numerous advantages and no single loop hole in it that could potentially drag him back to square one.

"What's the matter." Mejin queried, placing the plate of neatly sliced fruit on the small glass table beside the omega's bed.

Hoseok covered the file, sliding it beneath his pillow. " Nothing serious," he answered lazily, hovering over to grab the plate of fruit. He wasn't sure if she knew about the contract, and didn't think Yoongi would be happy if he got her involved. So it was better he made the decision by himself, be it good or bad. Getting her involved in his messed up life would do no good than harm. Yoongi already being involved in it was already a red flag for the entire family.

Mejin hummed, taking her seat on the bed, her gaze still on the omega. "You've been isolating yourself a lot lately..." She paused, her gaze still watching the omega who was nibbling lazily on a strawberry with an unsettling frown.

"Why is that." Mejin finished.

Hoseok sat upright, turning his still furrowed gaze towards her. He shrugged, picking a slice of apple. "No reason." He answered. "This is the best life I've lived so far, so I'll say I'm just being lazy."

Mejin signed, rolling her eyes. "That's not what I'm talking about. You're not that hyper active omega I first met who almost burnt down an entire estate on his first night in an attempt to escape."

A small smile thugged on Hoseok's lips. "So you knew." He mumbled more to himself.

"Yeah I did." Mejin answered with a laugh. "You destroyed more than half of that floor."

Hoseok pursed his lips in an attempt to hold his smile. "Do you want me to keep destroying things then? What's the use of all of that anyway, I'm trapped." He finished, having a weight in his tone.

The room went silent for a while, with Hoseok going back to munching on his fruit salad.

Mejin let out a soft sign, patting his back gently. "Don't give up hope, I'm certain Yoongi is doing something to that already.

"I hope so." Hoseok muttered. The room went silent again into a comfortable silence before Hoseok decided to break it.

"I need to ask you a question." He began, dropping the plate of half eaten fruits on the table. "You mentioned something about heat back at the motel... can you tell me what it is about?"

"Oh that?" Mejin smiled, turning fully to face the omega. "There's a lot to it than it's name. It's like a monthly cycle for every omegas. It's often described as an intense, instinctual, and primal response to a potential mate, usually accompanied by physical symptoms like increased body temperature, sweating, and arousal."

"I have no idea what all those big grammar mean." Hoseok stated, his brows furrowed. This earned a laugh from mejin. "In simpler terms, it's your body hormones having a toll on you. Though it might not be frequent for some omegas, but it happens to every omegas... alphas too, but theirs is called rut."

"Oh, so it's the same thing?"

"No." Mejin shook her head. "The only similarities between rut and heat is higher body temperature, arousal, intense pain and longing to be mated. Besides that, they're two different things. Alphas in rut are really aggressive, some are able to control themselves, but in most cases, they're unbearable. They get very dominant and literally any omega or betas in some cases next to them at that moment is at risk of getting manhandled.

While omegas in heat is pretty much the most uncomfortable thing you would want to experience. The intense pain and high body temperature might kill if proper care isn't taken, especially if your heat has been delayed for a long time. Besides that the omega becomes really submissive, leaving her very volunerable to alphas... you see that's the really dangerous part of an omega in heat. If the alpha can't withhold himself from the sweet arousing scent of the omega, he'd take advantage of the situation, and if the alpha is someone the omega doesn't want to be mated to, then it's all messed up."

"Oh... I guess I don't want to have my heat then, it's more complicated than I thought."

"No!" Mejin chuckled, gently Hitting his shoulder. "You shouldn't pray not to have it..."
