As the meeting continued,
Yoongi's mind raced, calculating his next moves.
He knew he had to act quickly,
to shut down any potential threats before they could materialize.
But that meant taking risks,
and the biggest risk of all was Hoseok.

The conference had ended, and a few stayed behind for the after party. Yoongi had to stay behind because Hungjae was also present and wanted to introduce him to someone.

Besides a glass of champagne which he served himself, he was careful not to taste any other of the luxurious meals settled on the table. He couldn't let his guard down even if he trusted his father to not hurt him...

Right???

"Father." Yoongi greeted, his tone void of any emotion. "It's been a while."

"Yeah son." The old man grinned. "Long time..." he paused, ordering the guards around him to leave. "Aren't you going a little too far by getting married to the JADE?" He went on speaking as soon as they were alone, his suspicious grin still plastered on his face.

"Do you have a problem with that?" Yoongi asked, his brow slightly raised.

"Of course not," the old man laughed admist words. "He's your property anyway, you can do to him whatever way you wish."

Yoongi's jaw clenched at the man's word choice, his grip tightening around the stem of the champagne glass, his knuckles turning white. The way his father spoke about Hoseok-like he was nothing more than a possession-made his blood boil. He forced himself to maintain a calm exterior, knowing any show of emotion would only give the old man satisfaction.

"I don't see why you're concerned," Yoongi replied coolly, his voice betraying nothing of the storm brewing inside him. "My decisions are my own, and I don't need anyone's approval."

His father chuckled, a low, grating sound that Yoongi had always despised. "Oh, I'm not concerned. I'm merely... curious." He leaned closer, his eyes narrowing as he studied his son. "You've always been strategic, Yoongi. But this marriage-it's risky. The Jade isn't just any omega. He's a symbol, a pawn that could be used against you if you're not careful."

Yoongi's eyes darkened, but he kept his tone even. "Hoseok is more than just a pawn. And I know exactly what I'm doing."

The old man raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. "Do you? Because from where I stand, it looks like you're getting too close. Too attached." He leaned in, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Emotions make you weak, son. They cloud your judgment. Don't let this omega be your downfall."

Yoongi's jaw tightened, but he remained silent, refusing to give his father the reaction he was fishing for. Instead, he took a slow sip of his champagne, his eyes never leaving the old man's.

Seeing that Yoongi wasn't going to bite, his father's expression shifted, the grin fading into something more calculating. "You should consider your position carefully, Yoongi. There are many who wouldn't hesitate to use him against you. And when that happens, you'll have to make a choice: protect your empire, or protect your omega. You can't do both."

The words hung in the air like a noose, but Yoongi refused to let them tighten around his neck. "I've faced tougher choices before," he said, his voice as cold as steel. "And I've always come out on top."

His father smirked, clearly amused by his son's defiance. "We'll see about that." He turned to a guard by the entrance, giving him a signal.

"Here's the person I want you to meet." Hungjae smiled, getting up from his seat. "It'll be really fun having you both work together, you should give him a try." With that, he walked away, leaving Yoongi sitting alone in the dimly lit room, the tension in his body refusing to dissipate.
