...I saved you...

Yoongi’s heart lurched as he watched Hoseok dash into the building. “Hoseok, wait!” he shouted, scrambling to his feet, but the omega had already disappeared through the entrance. Yoongi cursed under his breath, his mind racing as he considered his options. He had no idea who the attacker was or how many others could be lurking in the shadows, but Hoseok’s reckless move left him no choice—he had to follow.

Hoseok’s footsteps echoed loudly in the stairwell as he sprinted up the winding stairs, his breath coming in quick, sharp gasps. His heart pounded with a mix of adrenaline and fury, his mind set on taking down the sniper who had nearly killed Yoongi. He reached the landing and pushed through the door leading to the balcony, eyes narrowing as he caught sight of the masked figure moving swiftly towards the edge, attempting to make an escape.

“You’re not getting away!” Hoseok shouted, his voice dripping with anger. He lunged forward, grabbing the sniper’s arm and yanking him back. The man twisted violently, throwing an elbow into Hoseok’s ribs, but Hoseok gritted his teeth and pushed through the pain, retaliating with a swift punch to the sniper’s jaw. The impact sent the man stumbling back, but he quickly regained his footing, eyes glaring at Hoseok through the slits of his mask.

They circled each other, both breathing heavily, tension crackling in the air. The sniper made the first move, darting forward with a low kick aimed at Hoseok’s knee. Hoseok dodged just in time, countering with a sharp jab with his knife that caught the man’s side. They exchanged blows with ferocious intensity, each hit landing with a sickening thud.

Hoseok could feel the burn of a fresh cut on his cheek, the sting of bruised knuckles, but he didn’t let up. He was fuelled by a single thought: this man had tried to kill Yoongi. And for that, Hoseok was willing to risk everything.

The sniper suddenly shifted tactics, grabbing Hoseok by the collar and slamming him against the balcony railing. Hoseok’s head snapped back, striking the metal with a sickening crack that sent stars dancing in his vision. Pain radiated through his skull, and for a moment, black dots danced in his vision.

The sniper seized the opportunity, delivering a brutal punch to Hoseok’s stomach that doubled him over, gasping for air. But Hoseok’s resolve didn’t falter. He lashed out with a wild kick, catching the sniper’s shin and causing him to stumble. Hoseok straightened up, his vision still blurry, but his determination unwavering. He surged forward, tackling the sniper to the ground. They rolled across the concrete, a tangle of limbs and fury, each fighting for dominance.

Hoseok grunted as he felt a sharp pain slice across his arm—a knife. He could feel warm blood trickling down, but he barely registered it. His focus was on overpowering the man beneath him. Hoseok managed to wrestle the knife away, tossing it aside before delivering a flurry of punches that left the sniper reeling.

With a desperate growl, the sniper retaliated, shoving Hoseok off and scrambling to his feet. He grabbed a nearby metal pipe, swinging it with deadly intent. Hoseok ducked, narrowly avoiding a blow that would have surely knocked him unconscious. He kicked out, connecting with the sniper’s knee and sending him crashing back against the railing.

Hoseok didn’t waste a second. He charged, grabbing the sniper by his neck and pressing him with full force against the railing. The sniper’s eyes widened in shock as Hoseok pushed him against the edge of the balcony.

“Who sent you?!” Hoseok demanded, his voice hoarse and filled with rage. The sniper only sneered, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. He didn’t answer, and Hoseok didn’t wait for one. Glancing at the plastic badge pinned to his shirt, Hoseok yanked it off with his other hand.

With a final, furious shove, Hoseok threw the sniper over the railing. The man’s scream was cut short by the sickening crunch of his body hitting the ground below. Hoseok leaned heavily against the railing, his chest heaving as he watched the still form of the sniper sprawled out below. The fight had left him battered and bleeding, but the immediate danger was over.

“Hoseok!” Yoongi’s voice broke through the haze of exhaustion and pain. Hoseok turned, seeing Yoongi, burst into the room, hurrying towards him.

Though, tired and too hazy minded to think properly, Hoseok’s lips cracked into a happy smile.

“See? I saved you!” Hoseok said, his voice strained yet still holding that familiar cheerfulness. He tried to push himself up from the railing, but the movement sent a wave of dizziness crashing over him. Hoseok’s legs gave out, and he crumpled to the floor, clutching his injured side. Yoongi caught him just before he hit the ground floor, his grip firm yet gentle.

“Hoseok, stay with me,” Yoongi said urgently, his voice tight with fear. He could see the blood soaking through Hoseok’s clothes, the wound on his arm still bleeding sluggishly. “You’re hurt, We need to get you help.”

But Hoseok shook his head stubbornly, trying to focus his blurry gaze on Yoongi’s face. “No… I can handle it,” he insisted, his breath coming in short, pained bursts. “This… this fight proves it, Yoongi. Put me… put me back in the mission.” He forced the words out, each one costing him more strength than the last. “I’m not weak… I can handle anything.”

Yoongi’s brows furrowed, a mix of frustration and fear clouding his expression. “Hoseok, this isn’t about proving yourself. You nearly got yourself killed—”

“I don’t care!” Hoseok interrupted, his voice rising before it cracked, his body shivering from the effort. “I need to… I need to be there. I’m capable… I showed you… Please, Yoongi…”

Yoongi’s heart twisted painfully at the desperation in Hoseok’s voice. He could see the omega’s determination, the fierce need to prove his worth despite the odds. But as Hoseok’s eyes fluttered, fighting to stay open, Yoongi knew they were running out of time. Hoseok was losing too much blood, his skin growing clammy and cold to the touch.

“Cupcake, look at me,” Yoongi said, cupping Hoseok’s face with both hands, his thumbs brushing away the stray drops of blood at the corner of Hoseok’s mouth. “We’ll talk about it, okay? You’ve proven yourself, but right now, you need to stay awake. I can’t lose you. Not like this.”

Hoseok’s vision swam, Yoongi’s voice echoing in his ears like it was coming from a distance. He felt his eyelids grow heavy, every blink slower than the last. “I’m… tired, Yoongi,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. “I just… I just want to sleep.”

“No, no. You can’t sleep, not yet,” Yoongi pleaded, his voice cracking with panic. He shook Hoseok gently, trying to keep him conscious. “Stay with me. Focus on my voice. Just keep your eyes open a little longer. Taehyung is almost here, okay?”

But Hoseok’s eyes were already drooping, his breaths coming in slow, uneven gasps. He tried to smile again, but it came out weak and pained. “I’m sorry… Yoongi,” he mumbled, his words slurring as his grip on consciousness slipped further. “I’m… so tired…”

“Cupcake, no! Stay with me!” Yoongi’s voice broke, desperation bleeding through his words as he held Hoseok tighter. He could feel the omega’s pulse weakening, his body growing limp in his arms. “Please, baby, don’t do this. We’ll get through this, just stay with me!”

But Hoseok didn’t respond. His head lolled against Yoongi’s shoulder, his body going completely still. The world around them seemed to blur, Yoongi’s mind reeling as he clutched Hoseok closer, his heart pounding against the quiet that had suddenly settled.

Yoongi’s hands shook as he reached for his comm, his voice urgent and choked with emotion. “Taehyung, get the fuck up here right now!"he barked, his eyes never leaving Hoseok’s pale, motionless face. He couldn’t lose him, not now, not after loosing his mother.
