Hoseok frowned,
pulling away from the taller's chest.
"Why??
You promised that I'll be with you!!"
He enquired, his voice slightly raised...

...I'm going to die...
Yoongi sighed, already bracing himself for the pushback he knew was coming. "It's not safe," he began, trying to keep his tone calm and measured, though the concern in his eyes was impossible to hide. "This mission is more dangerous than the last one, and I can't focus if I'm worried about you being in the crossfire."
"I'm already in the crossfire goddammit! Like it's not because of me y'all are fighting!!" Hoseok seethed angrily, hitting repeatedly on the alpha's chest.
Yoongi grunted slightly as Hoseok's fists made contact with his chest, but he didn't move away, absorbing the force of Hoseok's anger without complaint. He could feel the frustration and fear radiating off the omega, every hit a testament to the helplessness Hoseok felt in the face of Yoongi's decision.
"Cupcake-" Yoongi began, but Hoseok cut him off, his voice cracking with emotion.
"No! Don't 'Cupcake' me, Yoongi. You can't just decide what's best for me like I'm some pawn in your game!" Hoseok's eyes were blazing with fury, his fists still clenched against Yoongi's chest, though the blows had stopped. "I'm not a burden. I'm not something you can just put away until it's convenient for you."
Yoongi pinched the bridge of his nose, frustration simmering beneath the surface. He hadn't expected this to be easy, but Hoseok's stubbornness was both infuriating and strangely admirable. "I'm doing it for your own good Hoseok, this is the last place you will want to be during this whole feud."
"Fuck my good then, cause I'll prefer dying than watching others die for me!" Hoseok spat angrily, fierce, now golden orbs glaring at the taller.
Yoongi's jaw clenched, gaze boring into Hoseok's with a mix of anger and desperation. Hoseok's words cut deep, each one like a knife twisting in Yoongi's chest. He wanted to shake Hoseok, to make him understand the gravity of the situation, but he knew that forcing his will wouldn't get through to him. Hoseok was stubborn, fiercely so, and Yoongi had always admired that about him, even if it drove him insane at times like these.
"You don't mean it," Yoongi said through gritted teeth, his hands gripping Hoseok's arms as if trying to physically ground him. "Don't say things like that just because you're angry."
Hoseok yanked his arms free, fierce gaze boring into the alpha's. "I do mean it! I'm not some stupid fragile omega that needs to be protected, I'm tired of being treated like I'm fragile, like I can't handle the risks. You keep trying to protect me, but it just makes me feel more helpless. I don't want to be protected, Alpha! I want to fight! I want to be the one to end those bastards who ruined what I was supposed to be!!"
Yoongi licked his lips in frustration, jaws clenching as his fingers raked through his hair, gaze everywhere else but the angry omega in front of him. He was obviously pissed too. But he needed to keep it in check . He was torn between the instinct to protect Hoseok at all costs and the understanding that keeping Hoseok out of the fight was the very thing tearing them apart. Yoongi's eyes darted to the omega, who stood there, breathing hard, anger radiating off him like a palpable force. He wanted to scream, to yell back, to shake some sense into Hoseok, but the alpha knew that would only push him further away.
His frustration simmered just beneath the surface, every muscle in his body taut with the effort to keep his composure. Hoseok's words echoed in his mind, each one striking like a blow to the gut. He knew Hoseok was hurting, knew that his decisions-however well-intentioned-were only making the omega feel more powerless. But Yoongi couldn't just let Hoseok throw himself into the line of fire. Not when the stakes were so high. Not when he knew his health also was on the line. Not when he knew his biggest childhood tormentor, Hungjae would be a big part of the feud.
"This isn't just about protecting some 'fragile omega,'" Yoongi said, his voice low but steady. He took a step closer, invading Hoseok's space, the intensity of his gaze unwavering. "This is about protecting you, Hoseok. Because I know..." He hesitated, the next words hanging heavy on his tongue. He knew this would hurt, but he had to say it. "Why didn't you tell me you were sick."
Hoseok's eyes went wide, the anger on his face giving way to shock. His fierce golden orbs instantly dilating to it's natural colour, faltering his anger as Yoongi's words sank in.
"How...?" Hoseok stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. He hadn't told Yoongi. He hadn't wanted Yoongi to know. Actually, he wanted no one to know, besides his three best friends, and mejin who was just observant, no one else was supposed to know. Now he feared what might happen, Now he realised he was still afraid of what Hungjae was capable of doing, despite the old hag not being present.
I'm going to die.
He'll kill me
Hoseok didn't realise he was panicking until he felt his breath hitch, coming in short, rapid gasps that made his chest tighten painfully. His eyes darted around the room, but everything seemed to blur together, and all he could hear was the deafening roar of his heartbeat in his ears. He tried to steady himself, but the walls felt like they were closing in, pressing down on him, suffocating him with the weight of everything he'd been hiding.
"Shit!" Yoongi cursed under his breath, panic flashing briefly in his own eyes as he realised what was happening. Without hesitation, he pulled Hoseok into his arms, holding him tightly against his chest. "Breathe, Cupcake," Yoongi murmured, his voice a soothing rumble. "I've got you. Just breathe."
Hoseok clung to Yoongi, his fingers digging into the fabric of the alpha's shirt as if it were a lifeline. The familiar scent of Yoongi-calming, grounding-began to cut through the fog of his panic, anchoring him back to reality. He felt Yoongi's steady breaths beneath his cheek and tried to match them, forcing himself to inhale slowly, then exhale, though it still felt like his lungs were burning...
