Yoongi’s hands shook as he reached for his comm,
his voice urgent and choked with emotion.
“Taehyung,
get the fuck up here right now!
"he barked,
his eyes never leaving Hoseok’s pale,
motionless face.
He couldn’t lose him, not now,
not after loosing his mother.
_____________
...Don’t try that ever again!...
Hoseok woke up to bright white light blinding his vision. He squinted his eyes, trying to register the plain white room.
"Is this heaven?" He mumbled to himself, after not finding any clue that'll lead him to where he was.
"No." A low chuckle could be heard beside him. Turning to the source, the omega was met with Taehyung standing next to him, probably jotting something down.
"Where am I then?" Hoseok asked with a frown, confused as to why the beta was laughing.
"The hospital, silly." Taehyung answered, checking on his vital, before heading out, leaving him all by himself.
It was then Hoseok noticed the IV attached to his wrist. "Oh. So I'm not dead." He huffed, feeling a little disappointed. He sat up, feeling a slight sting at his side, and a bad headache that left him groaning.
Just as he placed his legs on the floor, about to stand up, the door swung open, revealing an almost breathless Yoongi.
The alpha let out a relieved sign, finally feeling a little less tensed after almost ten hours.
Crossing over to where the omega was, Yoongi grabbed his face between his hands, pressing a surprising kiss to his lips. Hoseok's eyes widened in surprise as Yoongi's lips pressed against his, the sudden warmth catching him off guard. He froze for a moment, unsure how to respond, before slowly melting into the kiss. It was soft yet urgent, filled with an emotion Hoseok wasn't used to feeling from Yoongi - desperation, relief, and something deeper that he couldn't quite place.
When Yoongi finally pulled back, his breath coming in shallow gasps, Hoseok could see the raw emotion in his eyes. It was rare for Yoongi to show this much vulnerability, and it made Hoseok's heart ache.
"Don't try that ever again." The alpha's raw voice rumbled, sending electric waves through the omega's vains.
"Am I clear?"
Hoseok blinked a few times, his face still squished between the alpha's large hands. He couldn't do much but nod, surprised at his raw emotions.
"I want to hear you say it." Yoongi ordered, his voice still raw and commanding.
Hoseok swallowed hard, feeling the intensity of Yoongi's gaze piercing through him. His heart pounded, not just from the remnants of the fight but from the way Yoongi was looking at him - so possessive, so desperate.
"I... I won't," Hoseok stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I won't do it again."
Yoongi let out an heavy breath, engulfing the omega in a hug, firm but gentle. "You scared me." He muttered close to his ear, face pressed to his scent gland.
Hoseok's had his lips in a thin line, not sure how to respond. "At least I didn't die."
"You almost did." Yoongi huffed, withdrawing from the omega.
"Never knew you cared this much." Hoseok grinned, earning a light flicker on the forehead from the alpha.
"Just don't do anything stupid again."
"So am I allowed to join the mission again?"
Yoongi sighed, rolling his eyes. "As long as that will keep you from making reckless decisions, then yes."
___
"Yoongi, I'm fine. I promise." Hoseok kept on assuring, making his way down the stairs. Yoongi tailed him all through, not wanting to be out of his sight for a split second.
It was almost evening and Hoseok was declared to be discharged, much to his relief. One place he hated the most was the hospital. It's smell alone always made him sick.
Now Hoseok's present problem was Yoongi. Throughout the day, the alpha was practically treating him like a child, not allowing him to move a muscle even after Taehyung had Stated that he was now alright.
The alpha had literally carried him till they got to the entrance of the hospital. Feeling too shy with all the attention they were receiving, the omega had fought his way out of the alpha's grip.
Hoseok huffed in exasperation, glancing at Yoongi who was still following close behind him. The alpha's overprotectiveness was starting to wear on his nerves. He knew Yoongi was just worried, but after everything that had happened, Hoseok craved a little freedom. He wasn't made of glass.
"Yoongi, seriously, I can walk," Hoseok said, glancing over his shoulder. "Stop hovering."
Yoongi frowned, not looking convinced. "I'm not hovering. I'm making sure you don't do something stupid."
"I'm not going to trip over nothing and fall down the stairs," Hoseok muttered, rolling his eyes. "I'm fine."
Yoongi was still persistent, sending daggers to anyone that looked in their directions, and practically just being the omega's personal guard.
Seeing that the alpha wasn't going to get off his hair at that giving time, Hoseok decided to divert the attention on him to something else.
Settling himself into the passenger seat of the alpha's SUV, Hoseok brought out the badge he'd yanked away from the sniper the night before, from the pocket of his hoodie
"This." He said, stretching his hands towards the alpha. "I took it from him last night, can you figure out who they are?"
Yoongi collected the badge, inspecting it. "This looks new, I haven't seen this logo before." The alpha voiced out, his brows slightly furrowed.
"We have to find out who they are as quick as possible, he was sent to kill you." Hoseok stated.
"I know," Yoongi sighed, gripping lightly on his wheel. "You shouldn't stress yourself too much about this, I'll give it to jimin to fish out who they are... They're probably a rookie group sent by my father to mess with me.' He added with a shrug, igniting his keys.
Speaking of the bastard, Hoseok hadn’t heard of him since they last met, not even after Mejin’s death, nor her burial.
What a monster.
Hoseok's hatred for the man only spiked higher as the days passed and his determination to end him became unbearable each minutes. He just couldn't wait for the time to come.
Yoongi drove in silence for a few moments, his fingers drumming lightly on the steering wheel as he processed Hoseok's words. The tension in the car was palpable, a mix of unspoken fears and frustrations hanging in the air. Hoseok could sense Yoongi was holding something back, but he wasn’t sure how to push without crossing a line.
“You think your father’s behind this?” Hoseok finally asked, breaking the silence. His voice was calm, but the thought of Yoongi’s father pulling the strings made his skin crawl.
Yoongi nodded, his gaze fixed on the road ahead. “He’s been quiet for too long. It’s not like him to sit on the sidelines, not with everything that’s happened.” He paused, tightening his grip on the wheel. “And if he’s involved, we’re dealing with something much bigger than just a few rookies trying to make a name for themselves.”
