Their lips met...

...I'm sorry...

Hoseok was frozen for five rigid seconds, his mind going completely blank. The world seemed to stop as Yoongi’s lips pressed against his, warm and firm, sending a jolt of electricity through his entire body. It was so unexpected, so utterly shocking, that Hoseok couldn’t even process what was happening.

But then, as the initial shock began to fade, something inside him snapped back to life. His heart pounded in his chest, his breath catching in his throat as the reality of the situation settled in. Yoongi was kissing him—actually kissing him. And what was even more surprising was that it didn’t feel wrong. It felt... right.

Slowly, tentatively, Hoseok responded, his free hand coming up to rest on Yoongi’s chest as he leaned into the kiss. His eyes fluttered closed, and he let himself get lost in the moment, the worries and frustrations of the past hours melting away. There was no room for anything else in his mind but the sensation of Yoongi’s lips on his, the warmth of his touch, the way their breaths mingled as they drew closer.

Yoongi, for his part, was equally surprised by how natural it felt. The tension that had been building between them for so long was finally released, and for the first time in what felt like forever, he allowed himself to simply feel. There was no overthinking, no second-guessing—just the pure, unfiltered connection between them. The frustration, the pain, the fear—all of it faded into the background as he deepened the kiss, his hand sliding up to cradle the back of Hoseok’s neck.

When they finally broke apart, both of them were breathing heavily, their foreheads resting against each other as they tried to process what had just happened. Hoseok’s eyes fluttered open, meeting Yoongi’s gaze with a mix of disbelief and something else—something warmer, something softer.

"Yoongi..." Hoseok whispered, his voice shaky but full of emotion. He wasn’t sure what to say, wasn’t sure how to make sense of the whirlwind of feelings swirling inside him. All he knew was that something had changed, something that he couldn’t ignore.

Yoongi’s thumb gently stroked the back of Hoseok’s neck, his own breath still unsteady. "I’m sorry," he murmured, his voice rough with a mix of exhaustion and sincerity. "I didn’t mean to... I just—"

Hoseok shook his head, cutting him off before he could finish. "Don’t apologise," he said softly, his fingers tightening slightly around Yoongi’s shirt. "Just... don’t."

Yoongi searched Hoseok’s eyes, looking for any sign of regret or hesitation, but all he found was the same confusion and longing that mirrored his own. He exhaled slowly, his heart still racing as he tried to find the right words.

"I don’t know what this is," Yoongi admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I know I don’t want to fight it anymore."

Hoseok’s heart skipped a beat at Yoongi’s words, his breath hitching as the weight of them settled over him. He wasn’t sure what this was either, wasn’t sure what it meant for them—but in that moment, he realised that he didn’t need to have all the answers. All that mattered was the feeling, the undeniable connection between them that had been simmering beneath the surface for so long.

"Me neither," Hoseok replied, his voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside him. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to the corner of Yoongi’s mouth, a silent promise that they would figure it out together.

Yoongi closed his eyes, savouring the brief contact before he pulled back just enough to rest his forehead against Hoseok’s. "Then we’ll take it one step at a time," he said softly, his thumb still tracing soothing circles on Hoseok’s skin. "But first... let’s get this wound taken care of."

Hoseok smiled, a small but genuine smile that lit up his face. "Okay," he agreed, his voice filled with a newfound warmth. "But you’d better not argue with me this time."

Yoongi chuckled, the sound low and rough but filled with affection. "No arguments," he promised, finally releasing Hoseok’s hand so the omega could tend to his wound.

As Hoseok got to work, his hands steady and his focus sharp, he couldn’t help but steal glances at Yoongi every now and then, his heart swelling with a mix of emotions that he couldn’t fully articulate. There was still so much they needed to talk about, so much they needed to figure out—but for now, this was enough.

And as Yoongi watched Hoseok work, his own heart lighter than it had been in a long time, he knew that whatever came next, they would face it together.

Hoseok worked quickly, his hands moving with a precision that belied the swirling emotions within him. He carefully peeled away the makeshift bandage, exposing the raw, angry wound beneath. The sight of it made his heart clench with worry, but he pushed those feelings aside, focusing on the task at hand.

Yoongi watched him in silence, his gaze soft as he studied the omega’s determined expression. It was strange, how something as simple as Hoseok’s touch could make the pain feel distant, like it was happening to someone else. There was a calmness in Hoseok’s presence that Yoongi had never fully appreciated until now.

"Does it hurt?" Hoseok asked quietly, his voice breaking the silence as he dabbed the wound with alcohol-soaked gauze. He kept his eyes on the task, not trusting himself to meet Yoongi’s gaze just yet.

"A little," Yoongi admitted, his voice steady despite the sharp sting that accompanied Hoseok’s careful ministrations. "But it’s nothing I can’t handle."

Hoseok frowned at that, not satisfied with Yoongi’s attempt to downplay his pain. "You don’t have to act tough all the time, you know," he murmured, his fingers gentle as they worked to clean the wound. "It’s okay to admit when something hurts."

Yoongi’s lips quirked into a small smile, the words touching something deep within him. "Maybe," he replied, his voice softer than before. "But old habits die hard."

Hoseok didn’t respond immediately, his focus shifting to applying a fresh bandage to the wound. His movements were efficient, but there was a tenderness in the way he handled Yoongi, as if he were afraid of causing him more pain. Once the bandage was secure, he finally looked up, meeting Yoongi’s gaze with a seriousness that made the alpha’s breath catch...
