Chapter 44

(A Few Moments Later)

This enormous half sphere-like explosion lights up not only the torn-up open field that this battle took place, but also the entire Phantom Field itself. The bright white light engulfed everything and everyone, regardless of distance. Before long, the explosion begins to fade from sight, leaving a much larger mushroom cloud than the previous one Y/N produced earlier. In the middle of this is Susano'o, laying on the ground motionless. The bright green light that once emitted from his eyes and entire body are no longer present. Across this god's body are numerous cuts, dents, and other bloodied wounds. The seemingly lifeless body of the God of Destruction is soon approached by the smiling Y/N, still glimmering in bright light. With Grimm Slayer in hand, Y/N stabs the unconscious Susano'o at his chest to garner some kind of reaction out of it. But he gets nothing in response as he removes his sword out of its chest.

Y/N: "Heh... some god you turn out to be..."

He then kicks the god's head just because he could. Walking past the comatose Susano'o, Y/N uses his red rope-like tendrils to quickly grab the fake god by its arms and neck. He begins dragging the body with him and out of the fading dust cloud they're in. All while joyfully whistling a tune along the way.

Y/N: (*insert a song to whistle to*)

Meanwhile, Roman's group manage to position themselves back to pinning down Naoto's group due to the intense shockwave caused by Y/N's massive explosion.

Junior: "Geez, I know he has to kill that thing, but talk about overkill."

Naoto: "Did he... actually do it?"

Melanie: "Well, the ground is not violently shaking anymore."

Miltia: "So, that's one thing."

Neo: "..."

Roman: "I'm trying to see through the dusts, Neo, and I don't see him yet."

Heart: "Oh my love, this whole place is a complete wreck."

Yumi: "I'm surprised the battle didn't cause everything else to vaporize."

Naoto: "No kidding. That bastard, Y/N seems eerily willing to just blow up this world."

Roman: "Well, that 'bastard' is our ticket out of this ridiculous world. So, if you guys don't want things to be more difficult than it needs to be, I suggest you cooperate."

Naoto: "Cooperate?! You have us pinned down because Y/N told you so!"

Melanie & Miltia: "So?"

Junior: "We don't know about you guys, but we have lives to go back to."

Yumi: "As do we."

As she said this, Yumi moves her head a bit to face Roman's group until Neo stops her from doing that via pressing her umbrella's hidden blade on her neck.

Neo: "..."

Heart: "Yeah! We both want the same thing!"

Naoto: "You guys are just doing what Y/N want! You're just lackeys to him!"

Roman: "Heh, call us whatever you want, punk. But we're not the ones laying on the ground, disarmed, and not given a power boost."

Naoto: "Tch!"

Junior: "We'd be idiots not to follow Y/N's command. Given his... current state."

Melanie: "Besides, he cares about us..."

Miltia: "And certainly not any of you guys..."

Still pinning Yumi down, Neo makes her own remark by signing with one hand that only Roman could understand.
