Chapter 43: Car se-... crash

"Iinom-inom pa kasi hindi naman kaya. Grrr! Why are you making me suffer like this, Narda? Pinipigilan kong mag-alala. Pinipilit kong huwag magcare. Ayokong magsel-... pero ito ka! Nagpapababy ka pa! Nakakainis!" Reklamo nito habang nagdadrive. Kanina pa ito bulong ng bulong ng kung ano-ano and Narda find it amusing so she continue pretending to be asleep. Hinayaan lang n'ya itong kausapin ang sarili nito.

"Alam mo namang ayokong nagwoworry sa ibang tao, 'di ba? Ang comfortable ko na sa bubble ko, Narda! I maintained enough distance from everyone, just minding my own business. I am already contented at being alone then here you are, sinisira mo ang peace of mind ko." Napabuntong-hininga nalang ito na sa wari nya ay pinapakalma ang sarili.

"Alam mo there's this one book that I can still remember every detail... its entitled 'That one time she didn't say goodbye'."

Medyo nacurious si Narda sa narinig but she preferred not to interfer with her monologue.

"The main character believes in perfect love. Like lahat ng nagpapakita sa kanya ng love pinupush away n'ya, telling them that they aren't perfect for her. Masyadong conceited si ate mo." Regina chuckled with her own comment. "Eventually may ibang plano si universe para isampal sa kanya ang katotohanan. She meet a girl whom she admired for being free spirited and jolly. But she never tried to love her romantically kasi lahat ng qualities na hinahanap n'ya sa lover, wala talaga sa girl na 'yon. That girl is the embodiment of the word imperfect, as in she's a total disaster. She was okay being friends with her. Friends as in super close to the point that she didn't realize they were already doing some of the things that only lovers do. But she ghosted her. She left her without saying goodbye. Doon palang n'ya narealize na mahal na pala n'ya ito kahit gaano pa ito ka imperfect. But it was too late. She could no longer confess coz she's gone. She tried finding her everywhere pero walang nakakakilala dito, para bang nag-exist lang talaga ito para isampal sa kanya ang katotohanang hindi kailangan ng tao na maging perfect para mahalin n'ya. Author said, we can only wish for a perfect love but there's also love in imperfection, we just have to believe in it. And perfect love doesn't exist, mamatay nalang tayong 'di natin makikita 'yon no matter how hard we try to find it. Ang harsh n'ya no? But its the reality. Hanap tayo ng hanap ng love na tingin natin ay perfect para sa 'tin, tapos natitake for granted natin ang mga andyan... imperfect yet present. But then hindi natin maipipilit ang love. Hindi rin kasi talaga para sa lahat 'yon." She sigh again.

"Natrauma ako sa book, Narda. Before Maxima, Juana, Rejina and Julia, there's that book who broke my heart. I wish I could rewrite it and give it a happy ending. Actually I made too many happy ending scenes for them in my head. But then i've realized that not everyone is given the opportunity to have their happy ending. Natanggap ko ng ganoon rin 'yong akin, Narda. I've prepared myself to grow old alone, living with a cat or a dog."

"Funny thing is, i've read that book days before I decided to break up with Aimee. Natatak sa utak ko 'yong words ni author. If love slip from your grasp, let it go. But if it tries to hold on even with a single thin strand of a thread, hold it with both hands and never ever let go. Sa case kasi ni Aimee she didn't even try to hold my hand. She left without glancing back at me even for a sec. I've realized i'm that easy to let go, so i've been living going with the flow from then on."

"I haven't realized how a mere romance novel can change a persons perspective."

"Kaya nabubwisit ako sa'yo! Okay na sana ako eh."

Hindi na ito ulit nagsalita after that outburst pero ramdam n'ya ang titig nito sa kanya.

Nakikiramdam lang s'ya noong una. But then she's curious to see what Regina is up to noong 'di na ito nagsalita ulit kaya minulat na n'ya ang mata pero sakto sa pagbukas ng mga mata n'ya... a furious honking along with a blinding light struck them first before the anticipated collision.
