I despised the job I'm working but I need the cash unfortunately. Been a bar maid at 'Ladies' since I was 12. It's not the work itself, it's the creeps that show up daily.

Aiden caught wind of it and now he sticks around till the end of my shift's 'cause of the freaks trying to trail me at midnight.

Aiden, fiddling with his toothpick, notices a new face at the bar. "Lager, cheers love," the man orders, sliding over €4.

"Keep the change," he smirks, and I start pouring the drink.

"She's just a fourteen-year-old, you creep," Aiden remarks with a scowl, sipping his Pepsi.

"Not being a creep, just tipping her," the man defends, winking.

"Sure," Aiden mutters, clearly not buying the excuse.

"How's Tommen doing then?" Aiden asks, curious as I glance over at him.

"It's good, made a few new mates," I reply with a smile, wiping down the counter.

"Got any new interests?" he teases, grinning mischievously as I playfully roll my eyes.

"Nah, not really. There's this lad, he's nice, but nothing serious," I explain.

"Uh-huh," he responds, teasingly doubting my words.

"Any interests at BCS for you?" I ask, noticing his disgusted expression.

"Hell no... I heard Casey's into me, but I'm not about that relationship stuff," he declares as I chuckle.

"Sure, sure," I reply.

"Besides, you're my top priority, can't have someone taking your place," he adds, making me pause in my cleaning.

"You're such a dick, you know we'll always be tight even if you find someone," I laugh.

"Yeah, but they might just replace you," he teases.

"Damn right, but one day you'll find your Prince Charming or ye princess and it'll be like a fairy tale," I tease, nudging him playfully.

"Aurora, just 'cause you've got a princess name doesn't mean it's all fairy tale romance," he laughs, dodging my playful shove.

"Hush up. You know what I mean," I reply, slipping off my apron, ready to head home as Declan enters.

"What did I miss?" Declan asks as we approach him.

"Not much, just some mischief and banter," Aiden remarks as I giggle.

"That's not fair! Why didn't you call me... by the way, Rory, your paycheck's in the back, give me a sec, I'll grab it from Dad."

We wait as he returns with the white envelope.

"Right, we're off then since someone's all worn out," Aiden remarks, giving me a knowing look.

"Nah, not worn out, just plain exhausted," I reply, my eyelids drooping as we exchange farewells.

"You know my mam will flip if she catches you walking me home, right?"

"Im not letting you wander alone, Angel," he insists, wrapping his arm around me protectively.
