I came into the house, as my da was sat, watching the tv, he was more than likely asleep so I slipped by and made my way upstairs.

Opening the bedroom door, I see Shan, wide awake laid against her headboard looking like she was in a fuck ton of pain.

"You alright Shan?" I ask, slipping my shoes off.

"Yeah- my stomach just hurts that's all." She sighs. The room was dimly lit, casting a shadow that danced across her face, highlighting the subtle lines of worry etched on her brow. As I moved closer, I could see the faint sheen of sweat on her forehead, a testament to the discomfort she was in.

"Y'not started your period.. have ye?" I ask as her eyes widen.

"No!"

I throw my hands up in surrender. "Alright, relax, d'you want a hot water bottle making?"

"Sure.. thanks Rory."

I grab my hot water bottle from under the bed as I make my way downstairs, I fill the kettle up before turning it on.

I grab her a cup of water along with two paracetamols before filling the bottle up and making my way back upstairs. The steam from the kettle billows out before I carefully pour the hot water into the bottle, feeling the warmth seep through my hands. As I return to Shan's room, the soft light from the lamp casts a soothing glow, illuminating her tired but grateful smile as she takes the hot water bottle and sighs in relief.

"Thank you," she whispers softly as I place the cup on her bedside table and hand her the hot water bottle. The room is filled with a comforting silence before I speaks up.

"So.. Johnny told me what happened," I say, cutting right to the point.

"Oh, it was so embarrassing, Rory. I could've stabbed myself right there and then... I hid in his bathroom, I swear I wish the floor would've swallowed me whole," she says, her cheeks flushed with a mix of embarrassment and humor, her eyes peeking out from behind her hands, revealing a hint of vulnerability in her expression.

"That's normal, Shan, honestly. Let me tell you something... the first time a lad kissed me, I froze," I chuckle, reminiscing about mine and Gibsies' first kiss. I'd been kissed loads before that, but I was out of it, it wasn't real.

"Really?"

"Yeah... I did kiss back eventually, but my God," I says with a smile.

"He's doing it to protect you... he doesn't wanna lead you on and.. disappoint you,but I give it a good two months and you two'll be together," I predict with a knowing grin.

"No, we won't," she sighs, a hint of uncertainty in her voice, as I give her a 'really' look.

"Look at you and Gibsie, you've technically married since you met-"

"Me and Gibsie are.. it's complicated." I sigh, leaning my head against the window sill.

"Oh really?" She says in a sarcastic tone.

"Yeah."

"I have a question.." she starts to say before adding. "How old were you when you first.. you know."

I eyed her warily, I couldn't tell her the real answer so I went for the most 'realistic.'

"It was with Aiden, I was 12."

"Bloody hell." Her eyes widen as she looks at me.

"I asked Joey about it all ah.. yesterday but he wasn't that helpful."

"Do you uh.. wanna ask me anything?"

"Like.."

"I don't know.. advice I guess?"

"I don't think so.. did it hurt for you?"

Like a bitch, I was puking a few days after and  I bled like a bitch.

"It's different for everyone, Shan... hurt at first, but it passed quickly," I confess as she nods in understanding.

"Right... I'm gonna go to sleep now," she says, shivering slightly as she lays down.

"Night, Amelia," I chuckle as she mumbles a quick 'night.'
