A flash from a camera jolted me awake, disoriented and unsure of the time

A flash from a camera jolted me awake, disoriented and unsure of the time. I blinked a few times, adjusting to the dim light. Aurora lay fast asleep in my arm, her breath soft and steady. I rubbed my eyes with my free hand, trying to make sense of the situation.

Standing at the foot of the bed, Johnny smirked, clearly amused as he admired the picture he'd just taken. "The fuck're you doing here?" I asked, my voice thick with irritation.

Johnny chuckled, not the least bit fazed. "Did you forget we had training today? You told me to wake you up, gobshite," he said, deadpan, tapping his phone like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I quickly put a finger to my lips, glaring at him. "She's still asleep. Quit being loud, you eejit," I hissed, carefully untangling myself from Aurora's grasp as I slid out of bed. I tried not to wake her, but I could already feel the weight of Johnny's judgmental stare.

"You've an hour to get sorted, lazy arse," he replied, flopping down dramatically at the end of the bed, completely unfazed by the fact he'd just invaded my bedroom at the crack of dawn.

"What time is it?" I groaned, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.

"5:30."

I turned, jaw hanging open in disbelief. "You're mental, lad. Why's it so early?"

Johnny shrugged, utterly indifferent to my suffering. "Should've slept earlier."

"Couldn't sleep," I muttered, running a hand through my hair.

Johnny raised a brow. "Why?"

I shot him a look, deadpan. "Have you seen who's in my bed?" I said, grabbing a shirt off the floor and throwing it on. Just as the words left my mouth, Aurora stirred beside me, her eyes fluttering open as she stretched, the blanket slipping slightly off her shoulder.

"Jesus Christ," she groaned, wrinkling her nose. "Who the hell is spraying deodorant this early?"

Johnny burst into laughter, and I felt my face heat up. Aurora glanced over, blinking groggily as she noticed Johnny sitting there. "The fuck's Johnny doing here?"

"He's here to drag me to training. Apparently, I'm not allowed to sleep in," I replied, tossing an accusatory look Johnny's way.

Aurora sighed, running a hand through her messy hair as she looked at me, "Mr. Gibson didn't tell me anything about training."

Johnny smirked. "Doesn't look like he told you much of anything."

She ignored him, rubbing her eyes. "You can drop me home if you want–"

"No! No, you don't have to," I quickly interjected, not wanting her to leave just yet. "You can, uh, come watch? If you want."

Aurora blinked, clearly surprised. "Really?" she asked, stifling a yawn.

"Yeah. You know, if you're up for it."

She gave me a small, sleepy smile. "Sure. If that's okay."

I nodded a bit too enthusiastically. "Yeah, it's fine. I'd like it, actually."

She made her way into the bathroom as Johnny, of course, took this as his cue to be an absolute twat. His smirk widened, and I could practically see the teasing brewing behind his eyes. "Whipped," he muttered under his breath, his voice dripping with amusement.

I shot him a glare. "Oh, shut up. It's okay to be jealous, Jonathan."

"Jealous of what, exactly?"

"That I can actually admit my feelings. Unlike you," I shot back playfully before adding with a smirk, "I mean, give it a few years, and we could be brothers-in-law—"

Johnny's eyes darkened as he cut me off. "Finish that sentence and I'll throw you out the window."

I raised my hands in surrender, chuckling. "Fine, fine."

Aurora reappeared from the bathroom a moment later, dressed in my jersey, which was comically oversized on her. But, God, did she look incredible. The fabric hung loosely off her shoulders, swallowing her small but curvy frame, she somehow made it look... angelic.

Johnny nudged me, smirking. "Earth to Gibsie?"

I snapped out of it as Aurora glanced at me, amused. "You look... beautiful," I said, the words slipping out before I could stop them.

Aurora blushed, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear as she tied the rest into a ponytail. "Thanks."

Johnny rolled his eyes and stood up, clearly done with the entire situation. "Alright, are we ready?"

"Yeah," we both said in unison.

Johnny groaned dramatically, shaking his head. "God help me."
