Never in a million years did I imagine I'd be sitting in school with my baby brother, but here I am.In the busy cafeteria, as Sean sits across from me, giggling as he plays with my hair, oblivious to the oddity of the situation.

It all started with a phone call from Nanny Murphy at the crack of dawn. She apologized at least a dozen times, her voice raspy from illness, leaving me no choice but to take the boys to school—Sean had nowhere else to go so he's with me.

Then there's Shan. She woke up in unbearable pain, I told her she should stay home, but now she's here too, slumped beside me with her head resting on my shoulder, trying to tough it out.

"I'm gonna go to my lesson.. make sure my teacher all know I've got mr Seany here." I say, picking him up as he wraps his arms around my neck. "Jesus Sean loosen a little ye gonna strangle me." I tease as he laughs.

"Alright, love you," Shan says quietly.

"If you need me, call me, 'Kay? Love you too," I smile before making my way to first period.

Twenty minutes later, everyone starts piling their way into class one by one. Sean's sat next to me with a pen and paper on the desk, continuing to draw, unbothered.

Gibsie stands in front of the desk as I look up at him.

"Who the heck is that?" Gibsie whispers loudly, looking confused as he stands in front of the desk.

"My baby brother," I deadpan as he rolls his eyes.

"No shit Sherlock, why's he here?" He asks, sitting at the other side of Sean.

"Long story," I sigh, leaning back.

I tap Sean's shoulder, and he turns to me. "Sean, this is Gibsie."

"Gisie?" he questions, looking at him.

"Why's he shoving his fist in his gob?" Gibsie asks, tilting his head to the side.

This was gonna be a long day.

"Comfort thing, I guess," I shrug as Sean looks up at me.

"Sean makes Aura happy?" He asks.

"Seany makes Aura the happiest girl in the world," I smile, hugging him as he wraps his arms around my neck before planting a wet kiss on my cheek.

"That was just adorable," Gibsie chuckles as Sean turns around.

"You want?" Sean asks, pointing at Gibsie's cheek.

"I want what?-" Gibsie starts to question before Sean surprises him with a wet kiss on his cheek too.

I burst out laughing before Sean sits back, drawing on the paper.

"Can we ah.. talk later?" Gibsie asks, handing me a bag with my clothes in.

"Yeah.. yeah, and thanks," I say quietly as he nods. "I forgot your shirt at home, I'll bring it tomorrow," I smile.

"It's fine, keep it, it looks better on you anyways."
