"Leave," Johnny's voice was firm as Shannon asked to talk with him.
Aurora's entrance through the school doors caught my attention before she even saw me.
"Princess," I greeted her, closing the distance with a smile that brightened her face.
My gaze shifted to her neck, catching sight of a bruise she attempted to conceal.
"Who did that?" I inquired, watching her confusion as she met my gaze.
"What?"
"The huge bruise on your neck."
"Ah... that's where Sean hit my neck yesterday with his toy car," she explained, causing me to raise a brow.
"Really?"
"Yep, he's a little shit," she chuckled before starting to walk away.
I catch up to her, noticing the way her eyes flicker with a mix of emotions before I add, "Are you sure? It's a really big bruise-"
"I'm fine, honestly," she responds, her tone tinged with a hint of defensiveness.
"Right... well, I have a question," I say, feeling my nerves skyrocket.
"Shoot."
"I was wondering, at the weekend, if you, um... wanna come over, if you're not busy?"
