I stand at the bar, waiting to order another drink when suddenly-
smack!
I turn around to see a man in at least his 50s standing behind me, smirking.
"What the fuck?" I exclaim as he starts stumbling away before I can say anything else.
I pull my phone from my pocket, the cold metal sending a shiver down my spine, and hastily snap a picture of the man before stepping outside for a much-needed cigarette.
I was way too tipsy to confront him, so I quickly fire off a text to Aiden along with the picture.
'At Biddie's, got my arse smacked a few mins ago, get someone to handle him. I'm a tad too buzzed to. :)'
'Got it, need a ride Angel?'
I can't help but smile at his message before typing back. 'Nah, I'm not that wasted, but I'm having a blast, not letting some dick ruin it.'
"What happened?" I inquire as Johnny sighs, leaning against the wall as I quickly stub out my cigarette.
"Bella," he mutters, and I let out a sigh.
"She still not leaving ye alone?"
That lass was beyond obsessed, and not in a good way, more like in a seriously creepy way.
"Is she heck," he mutters, rubbing his face.
"I can round up a few people to have a chat with her, if you fancy?" I suggest with a chuckle, and he laughs.
"Johnny lad," a taxi driver chimes in as he pulls up.
"How's it going?" Johnny seemed oblivious to who he was, probably because he was completely out of it.
"Your pal not with you tonight?" the taxi driver inquires, mentioning Gibsie.
"He's still inside, thanks for coming so fast, man," Johnny mumbles, pushing off the wall.
"Like I'd ever leave you here, boyo. Don't forget your old friend Paddy when you're up in the big smoke with the big boys," Paddy chuckles as Hughie stumbles out from the pub.
"Wait up, lad!" Hughie calls out, grabbing onto Johnny's arm. They exchange a few words before Hughie heads back in.
"Sorry about this, Paddy," Johnny mumbles, leaning against the taxi. "I thought I'd be alone."
"No worries, lad," Paddy replies. "Any friend of Johnny Kavanagh's is a friend of mine."
"Yeah, well, my friends are assholes."
"Cheeky shit!" I tease as he rolls his eyes.
"You're alright sometimes."
Hughie and Patrick stagger out as they both help Gibsie, who's holding his blue birthday bag, singing his own rendition of 'The Blizzard's 'Trust Me I'm A Doctor' at the top of his lungs.
I giggle as Johnny shakes his head at the sight of him.
"Nobody," Johnny says as Gibsie walks over, taking his weight from the lads. "And I mean nobody, would ever trust that you're a doctor, Gibs."
"Your future wife saved me from a bad bloody cat today," he slurs. "Buy a ring, lad." Slipping an arm over his shoulder, he adds, "she's a keeper."
Johnny whispers something into his ear as he turns his head around.
"My future wife's there!" he shouts, attempting to break free from Johnny's hold.
I walk over to him as he shows me his blue bag. "See, I've still got it."
"You've had too much to drink," I giggle as he nods.
Johnny helps him into the taxi, with Hughie and Patrick quickly following suit.
"Can she go on Gibsie's lap?" Johnny questions Paddy, who responds with a smile, "I shouldn't, but go on then."
"It's fine Johnny, I'm gonna get someone to pick me up."
"Get in, I'm not leaving you out here, you're tipsy and it's late."
I smile as he mirrors me, helping me into the taxi, I plonk myself onto Gibsie's knee as he puts his arm around my waist.
"Happy birthday to me." He chuckles before laying his head on me.

After we got Gibsie all sorted on the sofa, Johnny went and grabbed me some of his mam's PJs, saying I could crash here for the night. I changed into the cute matching pink shorts and vest before strolling into the living room.
"Princess," Gibsie mumbled, half asleep, trying to sit up.
"What's up?" I ask, sitting on the edge of the sofa as he opens his arm.
"Lay down," he mumbles as I do as he says.
I lay down, my face next to his chest as he wraps his arms around me.
"You're so warm, like a hot water bottle," he says, smiling.
In a matter of minutes, we were both asleep. It usually took me ages and I mean ages to fall asleep, this was... different, a good different. The ease with which sleep found us that night was indeed unusual, a pleasant change from the usual tossing and turning before drifting off.
