"Could you quit staring at her for five bloody minutes and at least act like you're listening to me," I spat as I chucked my sandwich onto the lunch table, throwing my hands up in frustration. "Honestly, mate, it's getting proper creepy, and you're ruining my appetite."
"I wasn't even doing anything," Johnny grumbled, slouching back in his chair as he twirled his water bottle between his hands.
Johnny had his eyes fixed on Shannon, Aurora's younger sister, ever since we took our seats.
"No you're not doing anything, you're only mentally undressing her in your head." I say sarcastically as i move in my seat, trying to block his view of her.
"I am not," he growled, glaring at me, his gaze fixed on Shannon despite my efforts to shield her from his stare. As he shifted in his seat, trying to find another angle to ogle her, I rolled my eyes, realizing this lunch was going to be a battle of wills..
Bullshit.
We both knew it."Yeah, you're that obvious," I retorted, catching his drift. "And I'll tell you who else is obvious," I jabbed my thumb to the right aiming towards Bella. "That evil bitch."
"Just ignore her," he advised, taking a gulp of his water. "She's not worth the trouble."
"Lad, I know I'm repeating myself, but I swear I don't understand how you ever got involved with her," I groaned.
"Neither do I, but it's the same with you and Lola," he remarked, setting his bottle down.
"You should go over and have a chat with her," I suggested, attempting to steer the conversation away from Lola.
Me and Lola had a few hookups, but that's all history now. She wasn't as bad as Bella, but she sure didn't grasp the concept of 'no.' She's been bombarding me with messages since our last fling.
"To Bella?" He scowled. "No fucking thanks."
Jesus Christ.
"Not that demon, Shannon."
"She's a frigit one, you know... or at least she was," I remarked, shooting him a meaningful glance. "You haven't been swapping spit with her, have you?"
"No," he hissed.
"Alright then, she's still a frigit then," I concluded.
"I listen carefully," I chuckled, tapping my temple.
"What?"
"I overheard the girls chatting about it in Claire's room a while back. That viper Pierce was tapping was talking about his lousy experiences, and it slipped out that Shannon has never kissed a guy," I explained, furrowing my brow. "That viper really doesn't like me."
"Jaysus, now you're eavesdropping outside the girls' room?" he muttered, to which I shook my head.
"You've got a problem, Gibbs, a big one."
"It's only a problem if you admit it, right, Johnny?" I teased, knowing he understood my point.
"Leave it," he growled, catching my drift.
"Come on, Johnny, just go have a chat with her. You've got this," I urged.
"No, Gibbs, I'm not interested."
"Why not?"
"Because I don't want to," he snapped.
"Liar."
"You know what? For a fella who calls himself my best friend, you're doing a shitty job, I told you I'm not going there with that girl, she's too fucking young for me."
"You're the one who keeps eyeing her up," I retorted.
"Then tell me to stop, don't push me to go over there," he insisted.
"I did tell you to stop," I hissed back. "Just a couple of minutes ago. I said to quit gawking at her like a creep, yet here you are, still undressing her with your eyes, looking like someone ruined your day. What am I supposed to do with you?"
"You're supposed to remember that I'm the eejit who almost died this morning being dessy driver to your learner arse. So instead of encouraging me to make bad choices, why don't you try and support me for once."
I gasped, holding my hand to my chest. "I'm a good driver!"
"You're a liability." He rolls his eyes but I huff dramatically.
"And I am nothing but supportive to you, I am your number fucking one supporter, Johnny Kavanagh." I lean back, crossing my arms.
"You really hurt my feelings just now."
"I hurt your feelings?" He says cocking and eyebrow.
"Apologise." I ordered.
"Get the fuck out of here ya eejit." He laughed as I glared at him.
"Say you're sorry."
"For what?"
"Hurting my feelings." I sniffled. "Now apologise."
"I'm sorry Gibs."
"You could mean it."
"You could learn not to push ye luck." He warned as I stared at him for a good ten seconds.
"I accept your apology."
"Good, I'm delighted for ya." He muttered.
"And since you need so much support these days-" I say, standing up and winking. "I'll go talk to her for you- oh Aurora's just sat down!"
I ignore whatever he has to say as I make my way over to the girls.
