"Yeah, then he trips over, and the water goes everywhere." We all chuckle as Patrick tells us about his weekend on the farm.

I glance over at the table, and there she is, the one person I've been longing to catch a glimpse of.

"Shite." Hughie mutters just as Aurora gets up, speed walking away.

I quickly follow her. "Aurora!" I call out as she freezes.

"Gibsie," she whispers, her face somewhat unreadable.

"I missed you." I confess, taking a step forward as I search her eyes, seeking answers.

She opens her mouth but nothing comes out except a ragged breath.

Suddenly, something washes over me, and I just hug her. She freezes in my arms before I whisper in her ear, "I'm glad you're okay."

"I ah... me too," she stutters, awkwardly wrapping her arms around me.

As I pull back, my gaze lingers on her face, noticing a few bruises on her neck and one near her eye.

"Are you... okay?" I inquire, concern evident in my voice.

"Yeah... uh, yeah, I'm-" she starts to say, but the sudden sound of the bell cuts her off, signaling the end of our moment.

"We can talk more later," I reassure her as she nods, before we both head off to our next lesson.
