Hanni and Minji's plan seemed to work. Because all the girls helped bring the materials to the job site, they didn't really have to help with anything afterward.
"Y/n, come here and eat!" Minji ended up buying everyone lunch because she felt bad that they all ended up not helping much.
In reality, the guys were just glad the girls had shown up.
"Baby, come here!" Dani ended up having to pull Y/n out of the excavator to get them to eat.
- Y/N POV -
I felt a little too exhausted to eat, but I didn't want to be ungrateful for Minji's meal. So, I ate as much as I could before trying to go back to work.
"Hey, wait-" Hanni suddenly stopped me.
"Huh? What is it?" I was a little confused by her demeanor.
"Are you two really back together?" She crossed her arms.
"Yeah," I narrowed my eyes.
"Fine, but if you hurt my best friend again. I will beat you up," Hanni playfully hit my arm.
"What if she hurts me?" I chuckled with contempt.
I knew that the girls were Danielle's friends and they'd be by her side no matter what, but I still wanted to see if they'd acknowledge Danielle's wrongs.
"Well, then she's stupid. There's nothing I can do about that!" Hanni joked.
I chuckled at her funny response.
"Why did you two get back together anyway?" Minji suddenly asked.
I shrugged but cheesily answered... "Because we love each other".
"Ugh," Hyein and Haerin playfully rolled their eyes.
I turned to look at Dani, who was talking to Jay, and took a deep breath.
"How could I not love someone who saved my life?" I thought to myself.
- Danielle POV -
It was getting late and everyone was getting ready to go home. All the boys got in their cars and headed to the nearest bar. The girls waited around for a bit but ultimately got tired and left.
The only people left behind were Jay, Y/n, and I.
It seemed like Y/n didn't want to leave a half-ass job.
"I appreciate that Y/n wants to finish the trench, but it's getting late. I could hire someone else to do it," Jay sighed to the side of me.
I sighed myself and tried to get Y/n's attention once more.
It was no use.
A few more minutes went by and Y/n still wouldn't even look our way.
"Well, if Y/n wants to finish it that bad then I'm heading out. Just make sure to lock the fence on the way out," Jay exhaled deeply before making his way to his car.
I watched as the evening became night and started to get concerned about Y/n's safety. Y/n knew better than to operate heavy machinery at night time without proper lighting.
I eventually got fed up and pulled out a flashlight from Y/n's truck. I turned the flashlight on and flashed it as close to Y/n as I could. I needed their attention but I couldn't flash it in their eyes.
