The afternoon sun bathed the grounds of Hogwarts in a golden light as Rosabelle sat by the Great Lake, cradling Alaric in her arms. The baby was content, cooing softly as he watched the gentle ripples of the water. It was one of those rare, peaceful moments, where the world seemed to slow down, allowing her to breathe in the fresh air, free from the usual bustle of the castle.

Rosabelle hummed softly, swaying Alaric gently in her arms. His wide, curious eyes followed a group of ducks as they paddled by. His little hands reached out toward the water, as if he could touch the shimmering surface.

"You like ducks, Al?" Rosabelle smiled down at her son, her voice soft. Alaric gurgled in response, his tiny fist curling around her finger.

Suddenly, a familiar soft voice floated on the breeze.

"Hello, Professor... and Alaric."

Rosabelle looked up to see Luna Lovegood approaching, her usual dreamy expression accompanied by a soft smile. She was carrying a few wildflowers in her hand, each of them tied with a strand of grass. Rosabelle smiled warmly, nodding in greeting. "Hello, Luna."

Luna sat cross-legged beside Rosabelle, her attention shifting between the baby and the lake. "I've always liked sitting by the lake. You can see all sorts of interesting things here, you know. Nargles like to hide in the reeds, but they don't bother me much," she said matter-of-factly, as if she were sharing a universal truth.

Rosabelle raised an amused eyebrow, her lips curving into a gentle smile. "Nargles? I see."

Luna's large blue eyes twinkled as she handed one of the wildflowers to Alaric, who immediately tried to grab it. "They're harmless, really. But it's always good to keep an eye out."

Alaric giggled as Luna waved the flower in front of him, his tiny hands reaching for it eagerly. Luna handed it to him carefully, watching as his fingers closed around the stem.

Luna's eyes sparkled as she glanced back toward the lake. "I talk to the Thestrals sometimes. They're very wise creatures. I think they know more about the world than most people give them credit for." She paused for a moment, her gaze distant. "I think people could learn a lot if they just listened more. Like you do, Professor."

Rosabelle's heart warmed at Luna's words. "Thank you, Luna," she said softly.

Alaric babbled happily, waving the wildflower as Luna tapped his nose lightly with a gentle finger. "He's quite clever, isn't he? I think he understands us."

Rosabelle laughed quietly, watching the interaction. "He seems to like you, Luna."

Luna smiled brightly, her usual dreamy expression softening as she gazed at the baby. "I like him too. He has a kind soul." She then leaned in conspiratorially. "You should bring him to meet the Thestrals one day. They'd like him."

Rosabelle let out a chuckle. "I don't think that is possible for now, Luna."

For a while, the two of them sat there in comforting silence, the soft sounds of the lake and Alaric's occasional giggles filling the air. Luna, as always, spoke in her own unique way, sharing odd bits of wisdom and tales of creatures only she seemed to know existed. And Rosabelle, ever patient and kind, listened.
