Rosabelle had just finished her class for the day and was eagerly heading back to Severus' chamber. Oh, how she had missed him. She had been so busy that she hadn't had a chance to see her husband all day.

As she made her way, someone accidentally bumped into her, causing her to stop and let out a small grunt of pain. Looking up, she found herself face-to-face with the newest teacher, Gilderoy Lockhart. She couldn't help but dislike him. What puzzled her was how Dumbledore had chosen him to teach Defence Against the Dark Arts when her husband was more deserving of the position.

Gilderoy reached out his hand to help her up, a charming smile on his face. Rosabelle simply smiled back, politely declining his assistance and brushing off her dress. She had no intention of touching him or allowing him to touch her.

Gilderoy cleared his throat and tried to engage in conversation with Rosabelle, asking her, "So, Rosabelle, where are you off to?"

"To the dungeon," Rosabelle replied.

Confused, Gilderoy questioned further, "But why? Your chambers aren't there, are they?"

"I'm meeting Severus," the woman answered.

Gilderoy persisted, "That man? Why? He isn't worth your time. But me, on the other hand-"

Rosabelle interjected, chuckling, "I think there's a misunderstanding here. Do you know my name?"

"Of course. Rosabelle Snape," Gilderoy replied, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, and are you aware of my relationship with Severus?" Rosabelle questioned.

"You two are siblings, obviously," Gilderoy naively answered, causing Rosabelle to burst out laughing.

Their conversation was abruptly interrupted by a man clearing his throat and tapping his foot impatiently. Gilderoy turned to see a stern-looking man with black hair standing behind Rosabelle.

"Oh, Severus!" Rosabelle exclaimed with delight upon seeing him. Instantly, her weariness melted away. Rushing over, she hugged his arm, oblivious to the confusion on Gilderoy's face.

"Oh, I didn't realize you had such a close bond with your brother, Rosabelle," Gilderoy said with a silly grin.

Severus raised an eyebrow and gently placed his hand over Rosabelle's, which rested on his arm.

"I'm sorry, my love. That man is rather persistent," Rosabelle whispered to Severus.

Severus couldn't help but feel a surge of jealousy coursing through him, intensifying his dislike for Gilderoy Lockhart. If looks could kill, Gilderoy would likely have perished countless times under Severus' piercing gaze.

"Lockhart. What brings you here?" Severus's voice dripped with a hint of coldness as he noticed his wife's discomfort.

Gilderoy maintained his grin, unfazed by Severus' hostility. "Snape, I was just escorting the lady back to her chamber. A gentleman's gesture, you see. Allow me."

Severus scoffed, an amused smirk playing on his lips. "Is that so? Well, I must say, Lockhart, you certainly have a flair for grand gestures. But I assure you, my wife is more than capable of finding her own way back."

Gilderoy's smile faltered even more, confusion evident on his face. "Your wife?"

Severus let out an exasperated sigh, his patience wearing thin. "Yes. My wife. I suggest you leave now."

Gilderoy's face turned crimson as embarrassment washed over him. He quickly mumbled his apologies and hurriedly retreated, leaving Severus and Rosabelle alone.

Severus turned his gaze to his wife, his eyes softening as he took her hand. "Are you alright? I hope he didn't bother you too much."

Rosabelle couldn't help but be in awe of her husband. She gazed at him with a dreamy smile and whispered, "That was attractive, Sev."

Severus was momentarily taken aback by her words, a faint blush tinging his cheeks. He glanced away, trying to hide his surprise, but then composed himself and gently intertwined their fingers. With a tender expression, he guided her toward their chambers.
